Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems the issue is with the power board or the main board and we’ll need to check few things. When you open the unit up; take a look at the power board-the board where the power cords/plugs goes into. You might see some filter capacitors a little bulged up in the top-If this is the case-this is your defective part(you can try to replace them-but some soldering equipment is needed). If not, then probably the main board has gone bad. This is the other board-where all the inputs are going into. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components. Please note that the TV components consists high voltages even when in off position. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

If you have already changed the capacitor then check for the voltage to the power supply board.

Your set is shutting down and starting up, as it's protection circuitry has sensed a fault, of such a magnitude, that it may cause a fire, and explosion or both, you need to remove this unit from the mains.

Although a capacitor may look good, it may be weak or bad. Here is what you will have to do. Replace capacitor (location) 2074 which is a 25 volt 2200Mf at 105 degrees. Replace capacitor (location) 2081 which is a 35 volt 1200 Mf at 105 degrees. And you should change capacitor 2066 which is a 16 volt 10Mf at 105 degrees. Please be careful with the last cap mentioned. You can easily tear the PCB trace if you are not extremely careful. This should bring your TV back to life. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

I have a Magnavox 37MF321d/37 and the screen needs to be change. Im a handy person and the question is should i replace it my selft? or should i pay to get it replace? how much will be the diffrent money...

The screen is the most expensive part of the TV alone.
The cheapest new replacement screen will be about $300 at Shopjimmy.com, but they are currently out of stock right now.
Paying someone to replace it will cost more that the TV is worth. You maybe talking about well over $800 for someone to find a screen and do the work.

I hope I answered your question on this one.
