Question about HP OfficeJet 6210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My hp6210 officejet continuously give carriage jammed messages, which seem to be erroneous. Restarting and/or resetting by shutting down and holding down the # & 3 key does not fix the issue.

Hello there Ok try this see if it will make a diferent .

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

HP 6310 carriage jam then a message to shut down

If the 6310 has been in service for awhile, the printhead runner dries out. Try liberally spraying the printhead runners with WD-40. With the power off, slide the carriage to the left and spray the runners in the parking area.

Carriage jam

Step 1: Move the carriage to the center manually if necessary If the carriage is stuck on the right or left side of the product, follow these steps to move the carriage to the center of the product.
Step 2: Check for a broken carriage chute
The carriage chute is the side wall of the carriage that holds a curved metal piece (the x-bias spring). A broken carriage chute might cause the carriage jam condition.
Step 3: Turn the product off and on again
Step 4: Clear any paper jam.
Step 5: Make sure that the control panel faceplate is correctly installed
Step 6: Plug the All-in-One directly into a wall outlet
Step 7: Perform a partial reset
Step 8: Print a self-test page

Step 9: Service the product. Now this model is outdated as per HP website.

HP 7410 Poor printing, carriage jam message(fake), loud noise

Check the plastic strip that you'll see along the carriage track. Make sure it's clean. Take a soft cloth and dampen it. Run it up and down the strip and make sure it's clean. If there's any ink on it, it could cause carriage jams. The strip has tiny lines on it which tell the electronics where the carriage is. If the strip is dirty, you'll get jam messages and sometimes the carriage will slam against one end or the other.

How do a clear a carriage jam on a hp6210 printer

My HP6210 printer had the same problem. The carriage would make a lot of noise going back and forth and I got the carriage jam error message. Using a flashlight, I found an incredible amount of ink (mainly black ink) underneath the mechaism which clears the ink off the print cartridges. I throughly cleaned the internal components and it works again.

Carriage jam

Try this (it may not work) -
Perform a Semi-full Reset on the unit by following the steps below:
1. Make sure that the unit is on, and disconnect the power cord from the back of the unit.
2. On the unit keypad press the # and the 6 keys simultaneously and hold both keys down while plugging in the power cord.
3. The Semi-full Reset message will appear on the unit display.
Wait until the unit initialization process is complete. The unit will have recovered its original settings.

I've had this error before and had no obvious fault with the carriage (it moved freely and the encoder strip was in place) i managed to clear the error by stripping the printer down and cleaning around the service station area
