Question about Creative Labs Zen Vision Digital Media Player
Tried to upgrade my firmware on the zen touch to be able to use it with Vista. Upgrade on XP and with media player 10 as Creative say. However player now only in recovery mode PC does not recognise player, cannot get any firmware to player shows version 0.0.10 on player screen. Any help appreciated
I have the same problem on my Zen Vision W. I replaced the original Toshiba 30GB harddrive by a new one of exactly the same model. The original harddrive was electrocuted by static electricity (in a factory environment), so replacement was an option. The new harddrive works, I can hear it running through clean up and format. Switching on the W results in the message 'firmware problem' and recovery mode only. Firmware needs to be erased before downloading the new one from creative.com. The pc sees the W only as a 50 mb storage device.
This means both systems contain a bug, or cookie. If the firmware you accessed isn't applying itself to the device, this means the system itself has been corrupted. Double check with your system configuration properties on each device, and tell me whats going on from there.
