IF YOUR NOT USING A DENON IPOD DOCKING STATION IT WILL NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY.
YOU CAN CONNCET OTHER TYPES OF IPOD DOCKING STATIONS BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE CONTROL THROUGH THE DENON AND ONLY CONNECT THE AUDIO FOR THAT DOCKING STATION TO THE DENON AS ANOTHER SOURCE INPUT

You may want to check your output transistors,They are the ones mounted to the big heat sink. With a ohm meter measure across one of the legs to another there should be no shorts. If you see anything burnt that channel will be bad causing the unit to stay in protect mode to prevent futher damages

SOURCE: I need to connect denon
The set up with other wireless network can be done this way.set-up is as follows: a BT
Total Broadband Home
hub wireless router in combination with a D-Link
DWL-G810 54Mbps Wireless Ethernet Bridge attached
to CHR-F103 system via its Ethernet port at the rear. The USB port by the way,
also at the rear, is not meant for this function, it is for connecting to your
PC for use with the Denon
software which should have come with the unit.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation
