How do i get the card lock message off of my powershot a480?

I turned on my camera and the card lock message is on the screen. i can not take pictures and i can get the message off of the screen. .

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Card Locked Message


On the side of the SD card there is a slide button that has 2 positions, locked, or unlocked. Somehow it got slide to the locked position

Memory card problem


On SD cards, there is a tiny sliding switch on the card itself, which "locks" the card, preventing files from being added or removed. Try removing the card, and checking this little slide switch. This error message means that the memory card is write-protected. To take a picture, turn off the camera. Then insert a new card or change the storage location to internal memory
