-   This may be true for the others, but I have one caveat, mine reads music CDs without difficulty. It is only DVD and CD-ROM discs that don't work. -   slowtrain85

My
Toshiba Satellite A25-S207 PC Notebook
cannot play any CD/DVD anymore that when I close the tray of my CD-ROM the indicator light flashes four times then remains lit up. What did I do wrong that damaged my CD-ROM or the Driver.
Please help me fix this problem. Thank You-   neburlp

check that the drive is present in device manager
if it is, try a cd cleaner in the drive,if it is not, search for hardware changes ,it may find the drive and set it up, but the drive may have just died.

I have just aquired a Compaq E500 it seems ok.But the CD/DVD drive is a bit termeramental.I have seen/heard it play an audio Cd,but the after it fails to recognise anymore disks in the drive.Any ideas?
