Question about Whirlpool 25.4 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator w/Thru-the-Door Ice & Water - Satina Stainless-Look
I have a whirpool side by side refrigerator model#GD5SHAXLB00. The gasket in the middle of both doors is very hot. I just cleaned the coils at the bottom behind the cover/grill. They were very dirty. I pluged it in and the gasket became hot again. What else could it be?
The first step is to clean the coils properly. Remove the back cover, and make sure the cooling fan is running. At this point, unplug the machine and with a wand and a push pull vaccuum blow the dirt out of the coils from back to front.
Yes , it's filthy and ugly, but the only proper way yo clean it.
Make sure the cover in the back is properly reinstalled. (See my tips). At the beginning, the divider will be fairly hot, but should slowly cool after enough running time to get the machine to it's normal temperature.
