    hey
Thanks for a reply but I have to be honest your answer was really unprofessional (sucked).I took the pool pump a part in maybe 5 minutes bearings and all.Maybe I should write for you guys,I'm not afraid to write a paragragh or two to explain how it's done.

I'm sorry for taking it out on you,I'm just tierd of posting for help in these forums and not getting it or next to no help.I'd love to hear" this is what you do, first 1.unbolt the rear housing (1/4 socket). 2. undo the eight bolts that hold the impeller(3/8 and 5/16 wrench).3. " You know what I getting at.
I don't know what you mean by it taking 1 hour to take it apart..You should have to know that if people are asking how to do it then they must have some tools to do the job.Anyway maybe I had the easiest Hayward pool pump out there but I did change the two bearings and the seals. From start to finnish it took me maybe 40 minutes, then I installed it and to my suprise I could hardly hear the pump running it was so quiet.Take care

This is not a projcet for the light of heart. By the time you buy the tools nessary you could have this done by a motor shop for about the same money or quite often for less. You can get a book on how this is done at your local library if you want to do this yourself. It will still give you general instructions as their are a lot of different brands and styles of motors.

Not to be a pain it the *** but I can see a pump in five minutes but breaking down the motor and the bearings that's something. I don't write for these guys. I'm just an old pool guy been at it for 35 years or so and try to help arrogent guys who if the truth be told probally opened the pump and changed the seal. Breaking down a motor is an hour with all the right equiptment. But if you have secret I got to be one of the best in this buiness by listening and learing so I would love to hear how you did this. OIn short Thanks works better than telling me I **** for trying to help.

Seal leaks on my power flo lx hayward pool pump

The seal can be replaced with either a 2131 or 200 seal from any pool store in your area. Most can offer tips on how to replace the part if you need guidance. The seal should be under $20 and could be as little as about $5.

Hayward above ground pool pump will not start.

sounds like the windings in the motor are shot! but does it have a capacitor? if it does you could simply have a bad starting capacitor so don't let it hum for that will surely scar the windings
