Question about HP DeskJet 810c InkJet Printer

Magenta in tricolor not flowing

HP 810C printer: Yellow and green are working fine but magenta in tricolor cartridge is not working. How do I get full color printing? Cartridge is full new and color has not been used before, but has been sitting in printer for a few months. I have windows XP. Manual instructions are for Windows 95/98/NT so the icon mentioned does not show up on my screen. I know, "get a new printer". But is there a way I can clean or rehab the cartridge?

Unplug printer cables, replug in
take cartridges out, put back in making sure sure nothing is obstructing the ink dispensary on the cartridges and that they're clean
look in the printer where the cartridges go, making sure nothing is blocking the ink
check the rollers to make sure no paper is caught inside the printer
turn on printer and try this
hope this works and good luck

The HP 3050 Deskjet All-in-One takes the HP 61 cartridges: http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/CH376A%2523B1H . There are 2 cartridge boxes (black and tricolor: cyan, magenta and yellow). Both regular or extended use cartridges are available.

I hope this helps. If you actually have a Laserjet printer, please give the model of the printer to get the toner cartridge you need.

When I print using my cannon LBP 5000, I get red and yellow lines down the page. I have used the cleaning option on print but it has not corrected the problem

Hello,If they are vertical lines then the most common reason for this is that containers for the waste toner of the magenta and yellow cartridges are full. This is not a common problem if you use original HP cartridges, but if you use compatible or refilled cartridges it happens. If you get the magenta and yellow cartridge out and look at the the green OPC drum you would see these 2 lines. You can carefully shake the cartridges 5-6 time HORIZONTALLY and the problem will probably disappear for a couple of pages. If this happens then you must replace the magenta and the yellow cartridges. Post back results here. Hope this helps

This model printer has only two slots for ink cartridges. One is for a black ink cartrigde and the other is for a tri-color cartridge which contains cyan, magenta and yellow inks.
This tri-color cartridge has run out of yellow ink, you need to replace this tri-color cartridge.

Printer is printing yellow instead of red and colour is fade

The magenta has run out (red).
Replace the HP 22 tri-color cartridge.
It probably has yellow and cyan (blue) left in it, and the black is most likely working as well, but if any of the 3 colors in the tricolor cartridge run out, the whole cartridge must be replaced.
For instance, if I printed my vacation photos and there was a lot of water and blue sky in all of them, the cyan might run out long before the cartridge life expectancy.
Also, don't forget that cartridges are rated in pages printed at 5% coverage.
Since a photo is about 25% of a full page, a photo printed at full bleed (edge to edge) will only yield 32 4 X 6 inch photos from a cartridge rated at 160 pages (5X expected coverage = 1/5 the prints)

I am only getting light magenta color when printing colored subject have new cartridge in it.

I am assuming that the color cartridge is the one replaced. The only thing that could cause the printer to print magenta only is that cartridge. Anything inside the machine that could cause it would mean that the cost to repair is prohibitive. So I suggest that you go through the cleaning and priming maintenance steps, but then try another color cartridge.

The error states that you are using non-HP cartridges for all colours. If black prints fine then you should replace the colour cartridges with genuine HP colour carts. You should be able to get a refund on the refills since they clearly do not work as intended.

HP Photosmart 3210xi - some colors (magentas) will not print

Remove the magenta cartridge, and try cleaning the head with alcohol, maybe with a small paint brush or an acid brush. It sounds like ink has dried and plugged up that head.

C88 only green and yellow

You are out of black and magenta (tricolor cartridge) ink or ink has dried up.
Try touching the nozzle plate (underneath print cartridge) with a water dampened cloth (not alcohol) for cleaning clogged nozzles (do not rub).
Ultimate remedy : put in contact nozzle plate with hot water for about 5 seconds.
If color still missing your printer need new cartridges.

Is this a free service?

Thoughts of a tec....Heads is part of cartridge on Hp's, Refilling is not recommended causes more issues than it is worth. There is not anything else that deals with printing in these machine except for the cartridge, so you problem is definatly in carts, recommend replace with the real deal.

Cleaning can be done via print driver, user manual is available from HP's web

Cheers
