Question about LG DR275 Recorder
I HAVE A LG DVD RECORDER DR7622W..I CLEANED MY DVD WITH A CLEANING DISK WITH LIQUID..I THINK I HAVE PUT TOO MUCH LIQUID ON THE DISK TO CLEAN..NOW THE RECORDER GIVES ME THE MESSAGE "UNKNOWN DISC, PLEASE CHECK DISK AGAIN"..IT READS THE CLEANING DISK..IT SEEMS LIKE THE RECORDER DOESNT READ THE DISK..EVEN WHEN I PUT A DISK IN THAT SHOULD BE INITIALIZED, I GET THE SAME MESSAGE. CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE?

The cd tray eject after put in the DVD movies, but VCD working fine...it is means that the drive's region code haven't set yet .(please refer to user manual to setting the region code) ..or unplug the recorder drive from the dvd player, using the computer setting to change the region code by connecting to computer's IDE cable .

Just bought unit. Had same problem.Tried lots of different types of disks with no luck. Tried to play already written +R disk. Worked OK. Then took out and replaced with blank -R. Came up with new screen asking me if I wanted to initialize disk. Answered yes and it took about 20 seconds. Then tried to DUB from HDD to DVD again. This time it came up with the dubbing menu, I hadn't seen before, and worked.
Hardly ideal, but the trick was to get it to recognise it as a blank and initialize. Currently burning my first disk. Didnt realise about 'FAST' mode, so taking ages.

I have had the same problem a few times. All I do is eject and re-insert the disk until it recognises it, this seemed to work for me

The DVD needs to initialise the disk first. Come out of the HDD dubbing menu and press DVD on the remote. The blank recordable disk should be recognised and you should see Initialise disk? on the screen. Press Start and hey presto, you can now dub from the HDD Movie dubbing menu (as per the manual instructions).
