Question about Lionel Trains 51009 Prewar No 246e O Gauge Freight Set
E-unit works on my pre war locos but they only seem to go in reverse I've tried to clean everything could this be a motor brush problem please help thanks
Need More information. Have you tried to move the eunit switch lever into a different position? Most Lionel eunit engines have a small flat metal arm sticking out either on the top or underneath. With the lever set in one direction, the train will cycle forward-neutral-reverse-neutral or forward-reverse-forward. If , for example, you had shut off the engine while the eunit was in reverse and moved the switch the other way, it woulod lock the engine in reverse until you moved it back.

Have you changed transformers? You can also make a Lionel run in opposite direction by using the throttle control...just go to stop and then to power and then back to no stop and right to power. That often works.
