I have a question for you, do you have RCA jacks on the back of your tv that stats (audio out of monitor) if so try plunging in your home stereo into these too connections red and wight and connect them to your aux or tape monitor audio input of your home stereo, if you have sound than your internal audio amplifier is defective and needs replacing, you may however operate your unit via the home stereo for sound for the interim...

I think your speakers may be dead. It could be that it has a short and no electicity is flowing to the tv speakers. Can you hear any "crackle" or noise coming from the speakers when you turn it up of down???

Could you list the model number and when it was made by any chance??

Thanks and I will get back to you as soon as possible to help get it fixed.

There must be a short somewhere on the board. This is something I would need to see rather than explain. I would try a few of the other techs on the site as this is something I would need to see. Look on this site to find a good tech to take a look/repair/install your speakers.

A sound bar is an additional home theater sound device separate from your TV. It is generally designed to be set below, mounted below, or mounted above your TV and is specifically designed to enhance your home theater experience by providing you with clearer, louder, and more rich audio. Somw sound bars come with wired or wireless subwoofers. A sound bar is a less complicated alternative to a surround sound system.

I am having problems adjusting volume

What type of laptop HP , ASUS , COMPAQ , ACER ?..........
Up the Volume on My HP Laptop
Open the "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel" icon.
Locate and open the icon that deals with sound.
Depending on your version of Windows, it will say either "Sounds and Audio Devices" or "Adjust System Volume."
Adjust the volume under the "Speakers" icon.
To do this, click on the slider bar and move it up on the slider.
If you need to decrease the volume, simply move the slider bar down.
Click on "OK" when finished and close the "Control Panel" window.
Click on the speaker icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen for a faster volume adjustment. Simply move the slider bar up to increase the volume and move it back down to decrease the volume.

Volume on an Acer Laptop
Acer laptops are typically sold with pre-installed Windows operating systems that offer sound-adjustment features for increasing the volume on the laptop's built-in stereo speakers.
These same functions can also be used in tandem with external speakers or headphones to increase the volume, as well as mute all sound on the laptop.
If the computer should output an unusually low volume, fixing the problem may be no more involved than sliding a control switch with the computer mouse. Click once on the speaker icon in the taskbar on the lower-right corner to open a rectangular window with a slide control.
Click and hold the left mouse button on the slide control to drag it upward, increasing the volume to the laptop's maximum setting.
Click the "Mixer" button below the slider control to open another window with volume controls for "Speakers" and "Applications," adjusting each slide control upward to increase the volume.
Be sure the speaker icon below each control is not accidentally muted.
Click once on each speaker icon to remove the red circle with a slash through it, which will restore audio.
Click the Microsoft flag or "Start" button in the lower-left corner if the shortcut speaker icon is missing from the taskbar.
Click "Control Panel" to select "Adjust Sounds" from the Hardware and Sounds category.

Toshiba VC-L2B Remote Control Sound volume bar is moving up and down, but there is no sound out of speaker.

Check to make sure the wiring between the sound bar and your audio source is hooked up correctly. Check the source to see if it has it's own volume control. Many TVs require external speakers to be enabled in the "audio" section of your TV's "Settings" menu.

Can't hear it anymore when it should be telling you the directions the volume has went down so low and can't turn it up??? It only has a on or off .

There could be 2 reasons: 1: Sound is muted. Solution: Tap on the screen. Tap change preferences. If you see a green square with "Turn on sound", tap on it. If it is a red Turn off sound, try the next solution.
2. Sound is kept very low. Solution: There is a volume slider bar. Generally it should be on the bottom left hand corner. If you touch the area where "no route planned " is shown on the screen, the volume bar pops out. Rub/Slide your finger slowly from left to right. This will increase the volume.

Have an Hitachi 60sx12b. the sound meter bar stays on. can manually adjust the sound up but will go back down to 0. tv remote or sat. remote doesn't work at all. Please help

Hi,
It sounds either volume down button is bad that turns volume down on its own or system control chip got defective and decreasing volume level.
Press volume down button on tv front and check is it working properly.
Let me know to find out further info to solve the issue.
Thanks.

Volume level display

it sounds like your laptop drivers aren't working properly.. possibly the program dealing with your sound volume is corrupted or missing.

I'd try reinstalling your keyboard/touchpad drivers. what is the make and model # of your laptop?
