Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a Compaq 7550 desk top. I loaned the main part (not monitor) to someone and now I have a Symntac thing that won't go away no matter what I do. I was told to do a system restore, but it won't let me get to that part of the control panel. The main thing it says I have is a ''worm.win32.netsky''. I have done research on it and from what I have found, this is a ''fake'' worm/virus...and I eed to do a system restore to get rid of it. ?????

Boot up your PC, as its booting press the F8 key several times, you should then be given several boot options. Choose to start in safe mode.

This loads a windows shell from which you should be able to run a system restore.

Hi we have a compaq 7550 screen that when turned on has a red sheen over the whole screen. Any solutions or is it ready to throw away. thanks

You may try messing with the settings on the monitor. The menu buttons are usually on the front. Try to find something that deals with the color tones of the monitor. If messing with these settings doesn't fix your problem, then unfortunately, it is probably time to throw it out.

My speakers on my compaq 7550 have no power. when you turn on the sound, the green light is not lit up, so they are not getting power.

Have you checked the Power supply adaptor and the power cord plugs? If all are okay, then the power supply adaptor is the problem. Change the power supply and it should work.

Compaq 7750. Can I attach speakers to this model? I was given it but it came without speakers

Compaq FS 7550 has no built-in speakers. However, the FS7550 monitor comes with a pair of detachable, independently powered JBL Platinum Series speakers, which can be mounted on sides on the monitor.

Compaq 7550 screen issues

Your monitor is having thermal problems. Some part in the horizontal circuit is changing value as it warms up, and you're seeing the effect. It's possible to troubleshoot this kind of problem by using spray chiller to cool down parts and find the culprit, but labor and parts would probably mean you're better off just replacing it. New LCD's are quite cheap today, and you'll gain extra space on your desk if you get one.

Looks like a loose contact in the button assembly. You will just need to get the button assembly replaced. Can be done at any computer service shop.
