If the disk is still stuck in the drive, look closely at the draw face, you should see a small hole.
Straighten out a paper clip, or piece of wire that's fairly rigid, and push it into the hole. It should open the drive for you.
Try your disk again, if the drive fails then there's either a connection fault or the drive has had it.
