Water doesn't circulate from the tank to the rug

The motor & everything else works fine it's just that the water won't circulate from the tank to the rug. The piece on the bottom of the unit that suppresses the tank flow value seems to be engaging the tank but somewhere between outlet on the water tank & the unit it's not flowing through the system? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked for the sprayer nozzles under the clear vacuum housing are not plugged with some foreign debris, carpet fibre buildup etc. Place the unit on bare floor and engage/turn on the motor/pump and pull the trigger/switch? No water? Check also that the hose/attachment wands have water or not? If they are operating then the nozzles to the carpet off the main unit may need to be cleared by using a pin (Safely) se if there is no foreign debris in sprayer nozzle. I have seen soap solution gone crystalized and the minute pieces clog up the on board prefilter and yet somehow clogs the nozzles as well. you may have to take the top of the unit off (approx. 6 screws) and see if there is water flow or maybe a kink in water /sprayer/nozzle line. Good luck

Rug doctor won't spray water

I had the same thing happen to mine. I looked at the hose in the water tank and the screen at the end if the hose was slimy and clogged. I took the screen off and cleaned it up, put everything back together and it works like new again. Only 2 screws and a screen.

Won't pickup water on rug

I may have already given my best advice but, check the hose line to the extraction tank and make sure there are no cracks in it. This will allow it to **** in air, and therefore reduce the vacuum pressure at the head of the machine, causing it to malfunction.

Bissell proheat tank-in-tank doesn't seat

I have stuck a connection to the Bissell ProHeat series cover extractor fix guide underneath. This guide resembles my Book of scriptures while I'm dealing with these machines, and is Very useful on making sense of how, and where hoses and parts go, and potential clarifications of issues, and how to fix them.

Bissell proheat tank-in-tank doesn't seat properly. I took everything apart to check lines for build-up because my soap dispenser wasn't working either, I also tried another solution and cleaned...

Similar problem still looking for a solution...
I observe that if I press down firmly on the clean tank while pulling the trigger, that it dispenses the correct volume of solution, but that's an awkward action to do while also doing the wet runs back and forth.

My hoover rug clearner won't pick up water when I pull back.

You don't say which model you have but this often occurs on the F5000 series. The most common reason for lack of pick up is that the lid is not fully seated on the dirty water tank. Be sure to hook the two tabs on the front of the lid, and then snap the rear latch into place. Another reason is that the duct on the front of the dirty water tank is missing. The duct may have been removed to install the hose, and was not put back in place. It is a square plastic piece, about the size of a slice of sandwich bread, which slides into the front of the tank. A far less common reason for no pick-up is that the seal that the tank sits on has fallen off the motor cover suction tube. You will see a round tube on the bottom of the dirty water tank. This sits on top of a large rubber seal on the motor cover when the tank is in place. Be sure the seal has not fallen down into the hood.

Looking for someone to instruct me on how to take apart my hoover steam vac so that I can check for clogging. It just stopped extracting water from the rug everything else sounds fine. The return holder is...

first remove the dirty water tank then turn the unit on if your facing the front there is a duct on the right where the tank sets there should be a black seal around it if you have suction there then you will need to check the tank
