There is a parts view of your mower at the below website. It does not include the engine, who is the manufacturer of the engine? Engine info would have to be accessed through the engine manufacturers website. This is listed as sold at Lowe's, and is a 2010 model.

Your mower should have a Briggs and Stratton 6.25 engine. I think the easiest way to get info on it would be to visit a Lowe's in your area (hopefully there is one), and explain that you have that mower, but no manual. (I'd leave out the part that you bought it used!) Ask if they could be so nice as to copy one for you from one of their mowers, or put you in touch with someone who could help you find a replacement copy. I have found the store personnel to be quite helpful, so I think this would be the easiest way to quickly get the info you need.

I just purchased a Black and Decker electric (cord) mower used. It worked fine yesterday but today, a burning smell and smoke came from engine. Is this a fatal flaw or common?

If you purchased your Black & Decker yesterday and it smells "burning". so it's burning inside; don't even think it twice and return it to the shop where you bought it and CLAIM that they should change it or return your money. Don't accept that it should be "repaired"!!! I bet they sold you a typical cheap garbage assembled in some of those far east countries where quality doesn't matter.

I got a troybilt rider mower. I dont know anything about mowers. I got this from a neglected owner and the final thing that got him to sell. Was the battery charger was wrong and it blew the acid all over ...

There should be a second belt that goes from the engine to the transmission. This could either be slipping due to a mis-adjusted pulley or another bad belt.

Neighbor mowed the extension cord and mower won't start

Check the cord has been properly replaced. Check circuit with a meter (NOT connected to mains) The live pin on plug should connect to live pin on motor switch etc. (need to take off cover on switch unit)
Cutting through the cord should not have damaged the mower.

I have a RYOBI E530 Touch Start Push Button weed wacker. Model RY29550. I took it in for repair since the cord wouldn't recoil back in and was told to just use the batter/electric start. I do not...

Most Ryobi manuals are available on their site: . The direct link to the RY29550 manual is: .

Are you sure of the model number? The RY29550 lists electric start with 12V battery for all models, no pull cord. It takes battery pack 130269012 and charger 140295003. This site has parts for the RY29550: .

I hope this helps.

I have a TroyBilt series 560 self propelled mower with a Honda engine. The other day I was half finished with the lawn, stopped for a minute, and went to start the mower put my starter string was still...

hi there

it is quite likly that you could need a new pulley and spring

but remove the cover and the starter assy 1st and check that the pawls have not stayed out or jammed , then try winding the spring and pulley up in the direction that the cord is moving when you pull the starter cord - check that end of the spring is still engaged onto the pulley , but if no tension is noted broken spring indicated

sometimes a replacement starter assy is quicker , cheaper

your local mower shop may have a spring & or pawls or starter assy for your model

but just in case get the model codes & numbers off the white tag from your mower
and check out this site for parts
go to troybilt
then select troybilt mower parts
then find your model from the list
then find starter assembly

parts can be ordered on line

cheers paul46
hope it helps

Electric start doesn't turn over the engine the first time

Have you checked the battery voltage with a multimeter? It should read 12.2 volts or higher. It sounds like the battery is dead, or the charger is not charging.

It starts after it's run because the magneto is slightly charging the battery, plus a cold engine is more difficult to start -- more friciton when cold.
