Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I'm using the Kodak Home Center to scan a hand-written poem and drawing (on one page). It is scanning fine, a get the expected preview. Now, I want to send this scan to my documents file. My problem is that after looking at the various editing options, I'm finding nowhere to indicate that I am done editing, and no finish screen comes up; so I'm stuck there. The query function of the Home Center software does not say how to indentify that editing is done.

Hello,

Open up this interactive tutorial
http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/tutorials/AiOPrinters/ENG_KHC_MAIN_v21.htm

On the left side click on Basic Scanning. Follow the tutorial and in your case you would take black and white document or picture.

Then scan. Once you have scanned what you wanted, click on Next.

On the finish page you have the option to SAVE TO FILE, from there you can save the scanned files into your my documents folder, to do that click on the Browse, then open your my documents, and click ok, then name your file and click SAVE.

Editing can be done after, with another software, so you can skip the edit in the home center and edit it later if needed.

How to scan more than 1 page at a time

ADF : Place the item into the document feeder tray. The printed side faces up and the top edge goes into the tray first. Adjust the width guides to fit the item. Open HP Solution Center with one of the following methods:
  1. Click Start , click All Programs , click the HP folder, and then click HP Solution Center
  • Double-click the HP Solution Center icon on your desktop. A "Scanning from..." screen displays to prompt for scan settings. If this settings screen does not display before the scan starts, a preference was set to bypass the prompt. To adjust settings, follow these steps to turn the prompt back on:
    1. Cancel the scan, return to the home screen of HP Solution Center, and then click the Settings option.
    2. Click Scan Settings , and then click the appropriate option from the popup menu: Scan Picture Settings or Scan Document Settings .
    3. Select the check box, Prompt for settings at the time of scan , and then click OK .
    4. Click Home , and then start the scan again. On the "Scanning from..." screen, click the appropriate option under "Scan Shortcuts" on the left. Each shortcut has a default group of settings that display when you click it.
  • Click Change Settings , and then read through the drop-down menu choices for all of the settings for the shortcut, adjusting any settings as necessary. Also click the Advanced Picture Settings button and the Save to file Save Options button to view your choices and make any changes. Important : HP Solution Center versions and options vary, depending on your printer. For specific instructions on all the settings the software offers, click the Help button on the home screen or settings screens in HP Solution Center.
  • Click Scan . The preview screen might display, if you selected the option to show a preview. Use the options on the preview screen to make any desired adjustments before you finish the scan.
  • After the scan completes, it goes to the destination that you specified in the settings.
  • Scan Button: HP recommends that you first get comfortable with using the "Scan Picture" and "Scan Document" on-screen "buttons" in HP Solution Center as explained in the previous steps. By doing this, you determine the scan settings that you use most often, and then you can more easily set up the scan button on your printer. Important: Before you use the scan button on your printer, use HP Solution Center to create the settings for that button . For example, you need to decide whether you want a settings prompt screen and a scan preview for each scan. Also, you must create the list of "shortcuts" that you want to display on the front panel of the printer. To get started, click Settings , click Scan Settings , click Button Settings , and then click the tab for Front Panel Scan Buttons . Read through the options, and then create the settings that you want. NOTE: The steps to set up the scan button on your printer can vary depending on your printer model, and the version of software that is installed. For specific instructions, click the Help button on the home screen or settings screens in HP Solution Center.

Kodak esp-3 unable to scan from home center, but able to print

If you are getting a 1-2036 error then there maybe an conflict between the Kodak TWAIN driver and another TWAIN device, most of the time it is with a flat bed scanner. If you have another All in One printer or scanner connected unplug it and uninstall its drivers. If the issue continues uninstall the Kodak software and unhook the kodak printer. Then download the kodak clear utility from HERE
After the utility runs and you restart your computer Re-install the Kodak Printer software and select WEB install to get the latest version.

Hopefully that will solve your Home Center scanning issue.
