Question about Compaq Presario X1000 Notebook
My laptop was diagnosed by a technician that the video card is defective. Is the video card repairable? If not, Where can I find replacement parts?
Have a look on the web for the "X1000 Maintenance and Service Guide", which contains full disassembly instructions. All you need is a cross-head screw driver and a bit of patience. The Graphics Card (an ATI Mobility Radeon 9200) has a couple of screws and then just plugs into the motherboard - no soldering required! You can usually find these cards at reasonable prices at a well known auction site.

Yes you an replace that card.
Also the HP xt3000, or Compaq X7000 are the same video card.
I first suggest cleaning the contacts with alcohol and applying contact enhancer before spending $50-80 on another video card, unless they can show you and verify that it works before you buy it.
Check ebay under
zt3000 video card
x1000 video card
x7000 video card
