I have a G.E. microwave that is 2 years old that won't heat up

most likely there is a problem with the magnetron or the thermal device connected to the magnetron...this is located behind the control panel ... if all the functions are working except heat most likely the magnetron has failed.... good luck to you

Microwave display flashing & beeping.

You have a failed membrane keypad.

On this model, GE doesn't make any parts available except the tray and the roller.

If it's in warranty, they will exchange or repair it.

It it's out of warranty, you're out of luck.

I'd advise you to contact GE Customer Service in case they may be able to help you.

Runs normal but no longer heats anything. model # JVM1451BA 001 serial # RT9227675

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron)))

Have GE JVM2050 over the range microwave, which stopped heating food and water since this morning. All other functions including light, key pad, clock, turntable work normal. The magnetron sound also

if everything works except the heating, it is most likely the mag tube is on its way out.........that is the most common reason for it not too cook.......since the microwave is a GE and it is 3.5 years old, i would say you are better off buying a new microwave, the mag tube starts at around $70.00 and up + the labor it costs too have a service person put it in........around another $60.00

Everything works except heat

Sounds like you've had a failure in the microwave portion of the unit.

Microwave not heating problems when the timer/controller board appears to function properly, are related to the following components -

1) Diode
2) Capacitor
3) Transformer
4) Magnetron

Power comes, turn table and lights come on but no heat... their is a faint plastic metallic smell. I took out the fuse and then the microwave wouldn't power on at all. Any suggestions? Thanks,...

Sounds like the fuse is working fine! *grin* It's probably a bad magnetron or high voltage transformer. Since it's GE, it's much more likely to be the mag. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383
