Get a copy of windows 2000 on a bootable cd.
When you power up the laptop, hold "c" and it will boot off the cd rom :)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I would like to download the user guide onto my Samsung notebook, unfortunatly I do not have a disc drive on my notebook that I can load the cd supplied with the camera

Hello,
I would recommend you to use another computer with CD rom and copy the content of the CD into a USB memory stick, then you can connect the USB memory stick to your Samsung notebook.

Another solution more expensive is to buy an external USB-CD Rom drive.

My computer can not boot -BIOS ROM checksum error

to be honest if you have tried to re-flash your bios, and it did not work you still either have hte wrong version or the disc drive your using to flash it from is faulty. try another floppy drive/disc and try again. if that dont work. to be honest it's not worth getting it repaired just go out and spend £30-40 on a new mobo. sorry i'm not more helpfull but i dont believe it's worth spending that much time and effort on an old system like that with this kind of problem. good luck to you. let me know how you get on ok.

I connect the cd rom drive with my computer but system shows "not optical device" plese give me solution.

it sounds like to me that u are trying to use an external CD rom, if that is the case then, the computer might be a version usb and the CD rom would be a version 2.

Boot win98

I'm assuming that you mean that the computer itself has no CD or no Floppy drive.
If there is no operationg system, and no way to actually install one, then you are out of luck.
There are external CD drives, but these normally run within Windows--although your computer may allow for their use on startup.
If your computer is new enough and you can enable legacy USB, then you could theoretically copy a Win98 install CD to the USB drive and boot from that.
If you have an operating system installed and your network is running, you can share a CD on another computer and run the setup from that computer by copying the files across the network.

I can't install windows without disket drive

Create a vitual CD/DVD drive. Convert the installation disc to an image, mount it on your virtual drive and proceed with the installation Do not install the software that creates a virtual drive like Alcohol or Ultr-ISO on any partition other than C where you are likely to install the OS.....
Otherwise use an external CD ROM and do the same by booting from the CD by altering the boot sequence in the BIOS!.......sodeep

If you have USB port then you can use an external CD drive like this one at EBAY.
