Question about Yamaha CDM-900 110-Disc CD Changer
The CDM-900 mechanism has trouble loading and playing a disc. It cycles several times, sometimes producing a loud "bang" as the CD is moved from playing position to storage position. A scratch has appeared on one CD which was new, causing a skip sometimes.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Laser might not be faulty but just a dirty lens/ rail assembly.
If thou darest open the thing, clean the lens ( GENTLY) with a swab of glass lens cleaner. Clean the chrome runners for the optics assby with a swab lcaed with WD40 or silicone.

The problem is in the laser for sure. Try cleaning with a cd cleaning tool. It's the easiest solution because changing the laser is not always available solution.
