Hi babyqmusic. A G drive is just like a regular external hard drive. If you are sure the hard drive turns on but the motor inside the hard drive won't spin it's a rare/serious problem. In fact, out of all the data recovery i've done just 1 % of the drives have a motor problem. You have to take it to a professional because it's very delicate situation. Did you try the Firewire instead of the USB interface? try other intercfaces, such as Firewire400 or eSata and try again. If you still have the same problem, remove the hard drive from the casing (it could be tricky) and install it on another external case (they are about $39) and try again. if you still have the same problem, you have to hire a data recovery company in order to retrieve your files in case you dont have a backup. This can be a really expensive. I hope this helps and please dont forget to rate and provide positive feedback for our fast-free support today. Thank you :D

Check the DC power supply to hardrive, if it is OK the board of the hardrive may be defected caused the motor won't spin.

Till this morning every thing was ok, but when I

Working off of my experience with a computer with a flaky power connection to the hard drive and when the drive fails to spin up there no operating system to read. I get the same message. Reach in, jiggle a wire and restart and it's good to go.

You either have a failed hard drive or it is not spinning up, or the operating system on the drive is unreadable due to corruption.

What does flashing globe on white screen on mac meanmacbook pro

If by flashing globe you mean spinning globe (often a colored beach ball), there are several possible reasons. The spinning beach ball happens when a operating system command cannot be completed. The computer is frozen/stuck in a process that it can't complete.
Most often the cause is faulty or missing information on the hard drive. Running Disk Utility will often fix it. You may need to start the computer from your OS install disk and rather than install find Disk Utility in the pull down menu and run it on your hard drive.
The spinning ball could also be caused by insufficient RAM memory to even run the operating system. It could also be caused by hardware problems which can be diagnosed with the Apple Hardware Test found on the disks sold with the machine.
If you truly mean a flashing round globe, I have never seen such a figure. Flashing question marks or flashing circle with a slash through it means the mac cannot find a bootable hard drive. Your hard drive may have died or become corrupted. To see if you hard drive is defective, again run Disk Utility by booting off an install CD or another hard drive with a compatible MacOSX operating system to diagnose.
Try running the repair disk program under the general tab of the Disk Utility program.

Hold down c key wont boot from disk

If your OS disk is a DVD, and you have a CD-ROM installed, it's unreadable by the internal drive. You'll need to get an external Firewire DVD drive. Connect it, make sure it has power, then hold down the option key when you turn on the iMac. You may have to wait a bit for the DVD to read out, but you should see the DVD icon show up on the display. Select it (you may need to use the arrow keys), then press return to boot from that drive.
A flashing question mark with no readable optical disk installed says either the operating system on the hard drive is corrupted or the hard drive is bad.

My cf19 wont boot up after it goes to the blue panasonic screen it says "no operating system found" i dont know what to do.

Hi,

There are three main causes for this message to display after turning on the computer.

1. The Operating system (Windows XP, Vista, 7, Linux, Mac OS..) is corrupted or is missing. You might have accidentally deleted or formatted the C: drive or the operating system is just unreadable due to corrupted system files.

2. The harddrive is not detected by the computer.

3. The partition on the hard drive where the operating system is located is unreadable due to bad sectors.

Here are the steps that you can try.

- Go to the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) setup by pressing F2 or F10, depends on what make an model of the computer.
- Check if the hard drive is detected. The hard drive is usually labeled as Drive 0 and you can find it either on the main tab or system tab. Again this depends on the BIOS and make and model of the computer.
- If the hard drive is detected, install a fresh copy of the operating system.
- If the hard drive is NOT detected, check harddrive cable/connections. You need to unscrew the hard drive compartment and reinsert the hard drive or put in a new hard drive.

Hope this helps.

When i turn it on it wont stop loading and after about 10 mins it turns off

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Helvetica} Thanks for asking your question with Fixya Support. I will be glad to assist you.

Try running a Disk Repair with Disk Utility using your Mac OS X installation disc or restore disc (which came with your Macbook)

font.f1 {font: 13.0px 'Myriad Pro'}
-RUN DISK UTILITY WITH STARTUP DISK-

Insert your Mac OS X Startup disk
•Reboot your Mac
•At the Apple Chime, press the C key and hold it until you see a White screen, gray Apple and eventually a Spinning gear.
• Release the C key only after you see the Spinning gear.
•Mac will boot from the startup disk to the Installer environment
• From the Installer Menu bar, click Utilities > Disk Utility and open up Disk Utility application.
• Click on on the hard drive at the top of the window in the left sidebar and
• Select "Repair Disk"
**Let Disk Utilities run this repair the disk until completion
• At the end of this process, reboot your Mac

See if that process helps bring your Macbook up to the normal desktop.

If it does not, use the SMC reset procedure.

-SMC RESET-
The System Management Controller is an integrated circuit (computer chip) that is usually on the logic board of your Mac computer.

It is responsible for power management of the computer. It controls backlighting, hard disk spin down, sleep and wake, some charging aspects, trackpad control, and some input/output as it relates to the computer sleeping.

• If the computer is on, turn it off.
• Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the computer's
battery.
• Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and then
release the button.
• Reconnect the battery and AC Adapter.
• Press the power button to restart the computer

This should help resolve the issue for you. If it does not however, just let me know.

Thank you.

Regards,

My hp media centerm7250n computer wont boot up from the recovery dvd sounds as if the hard drive is spinning

Disconnect the "data" and "power" cables from the disk-drive.
Boot from the Recovery DVD, just to prove that your computer can boot. Of course, you may get an error-message, when no disk-drive is detected, but you will have proved that your computer can boot properly.

Connect a different disk-drive, and boot again from the Recovery DVD, to confirm that it will boot, when some "other" disk-drive is detected.

Change the cable and try again.
If the drive is seen in Windows, try the disk utilities to test the drive.
