Unplug the pc from the wall; remove the 2 screws from the rear and remove the right panel; hard drive case  - bottom front - remove all cables; pull back, up, twist and remove the hd case out of the pc case; replace the hd and do the opposite to put it back.

Hi, own a Sony Vaio VGN P530H with hardisk Toshiba MK6028GAL damaged. as forced to replace unit, wonder could install a higher capacity? Brand & model if available please!!! thanks to all of you!!!

The VAIO VGN-T350 is a notebook computer designed and distributed by Sony.
The hard drive on your Sony VAIO VGN-T350, which is the unit that stores data, consists of many clusters of data that can be rewritten with new data.
If you are looking for a memory capacity upgrade, or if your old hard drive is having errors, it's time for an upgrade.
Upgrading the hard drive on your Sony VAIO will require the use of a screwdriver and will take you about 30 minutes to complete.

Turn off your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and remove the power cord and any other peripheral components.
Turn over your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and locate the hard drive chamber on the bottom of your laptop. It will be clearly labeled.

Use the screwdriver to remove the screw holding the lid in place.
Gently lift the hard drive and its cage away from your laptop and disconnect the data cord.
Remove the four screws located at the corners, and then remove your old hard drive from its cage.
Place your new internal laptop hard drive into the cage and replace the screws.
Connect the data cord to your new hard drive and place your new hard drive into its chamber.
Close the lid and replace the screw to complete the operation.

This might not be your specific laptop it might give you an insight into the hard drive installation.

Ebay this hard drive should fit there are smaller capacity drives that will be compatible.

Have replaced computer. Motherboard dead on old one. Is there any practical way I can get pictures and such from old computer. It will not power up. Thanks

You should be able to tak the hard drive out of the old one and put it in the new one as a secondary drive. There is a good chance, though, that the drive won't fit. If it doesn't, you'll need something like this.

Every time I put a new game it's unreadable and doesn't work, but when I put a old xbox 360 games they work fine , for example my Red Dead redemption, which I have had for almost a year works fine , but...

well, the only thing that i can think of is that your old games work because you may have backeed them up to your HDD. For whatever reason, it is not reading any of the discs, but you can play the old games because the machine knows the correct disc is in the drive, and plays it straight form the hard drive. Note that this answer is based on the assumption you back your games up; you may need a new DVD drive.

Need nec versa e 6000 motherboard faulty . where i can buy the motherboard?

it is not worth it to purchase a new motherboard for around 200$ when you can buy a brand new computer for just a little bit more.

You can have your files moved from the old hard drive to the new laptop by a professional or you can do it yourself if you aren't a complete dummy with computers.

To do it yourself you would need to first remove the old hard drive from the old computer ( NEC ) and then buy a external hard drive case for it that fits to it - there are 2 sizes, 2.5" and 3.5", probably 2.5" hard drive and then there are 2 types of connectors, IDE and SATA. SATA has a flat connector, and IDE has around 40 metal pins sticking out of it.

buy the appropriate USB caseing for it and then connect it to your new computer, you can transfer your files from it to the computer, after you have done so, you can keep the old hard drive as a external hard drive, for backups for example.

GETTING INFO FROM OLD HARD DRIVR TO NE LAPTOP.

Hard Drive requires lots of power to load. If you have purchased only the IDE cable to connect it to USB port, USB port will be unable to initialize the Hard Drive.
To make it work, you require an external casing for IDE Hard Drives with external power support. Like this one --

If you already have this casing with external power support, please let me know.

Scandisk(or whatever) should mark those sectors as bad, thus preventing them from being used. But no, you cannot erase them, they are physical areas of your disk that cannot properly hold data. Bad sectors are not uncommon, and nothing to be alarmed about, but a loud hard drive is...

Emachines C2825 problem

If you know the motherboard is bad as well, you have two options. You can salvage the existing case and parts, and replace the motherboard and PSU. Plan on spending around $100-150 for both together. This assumes the CPU and RAM are undamaged. The second option is to buy a different "bare-bones" system, and transplant the parts into that one (CD/DVD drive and Hard Drive). Unless you have an exact replacement for the motherboard, you'll probably need to reinstall Windows. The easiest way around this is to install Windows onto a new hard drive, and attach your old hard drive as a "slave" or "secondary". These two options are centered around off-the-shelf parts, rather than buying a "brand X" computer. If you prefer "brand X", which includes an 800 # you can call, look at Dell. eMachines and Dell both produce low-cost low-quality systems, but Dell is better at it. For ideas on parts, look at an online retailer like NewEgg. For compatability, this is mostly a matter of using a tape measure and/or counting pins; they have low prices because they aren't there to hold your hand; if you would feel more comfortable with some hand-holding, which is fine, buy a new "brand X" computer. Lastly, keep in mind, the difference between a $500 computer and a $1500 computer is more than profit margin. If they don't say exactly what a part is, it's whatever was cheapest at the time. A $500 computer may be all you need, but it will have problems like this; whether that's best for you, is for you to decide.
