If the clothes are hot when they come out but moist or damp it mean the moisture is not getting vented, Check your vent pipe for blockages or leaks.

Dryer takes 3 cycles to dry clothes

Air flow blockage will shut the thermostat down early. You may need to clean out the lint filter holder with a vacuum cleaner or a bent coat hanger. Look inside the dryer vent hose. It probably has a load of lint dust in it. A thorough cleaning is in order.

LG Dryer takes too long to dry clothes

Sure the outside vent is not clogged up? If so it will overheat and turn it self off and do a poor job of drying the clothes.

Also check and make sure that all of the heating elements are working properly.

I just had the LG WM3987HW washer/dryer combo installed on Saturday, and it will not dry our clothes. This machine is ventless and dries by dehumidification. The clothes are more dry at the end of the spin...

I also have this unit with the same problems. After lamenting on making a poor purchase decision, I found somewhat of a solution. Basically, water is not being expelled during the dry cycle. When I addressed this issue, clothes were MUCH more dry than before. Made a quick video demonstrating the fix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EhzuzSk2Ok

Clothes aren't dry

Heating and not drying can be caused by 3 different things. I will address all three most common first

- Restricted air flow, usually a blocked vent. If the moisture from the laundry cannot get outside and fresh air in the dryer you will take extra long to dry. Be sure there is ventilation into the laundry room and more important make sure the vent is not kinked behind the dryer and that it is clean and allowing good air flow. You can go outside to where the vent terminates and feel the flow while it is running to check.

- Sensor has build up on it. Look in the dryer drum, inside on the back wall, inside on the front wall, somewhere depending on your model you will two strips of metal about the size of a pencil. Clean those with a little alcohol. Those are what sense the wetness of the clothes and control the cycle. If they get a build up residue on them they do not sense properly.

- The load is mixed, meaning you have some articles that absorb moisture like towels and some light garments that dry fast, the fast drying articles can fool the dryer into thinking the entire load is dry when the heavy articles are not.

Our new lg dryer model #DLE1310w is not drying properly. We have 6 medium side towels that are not very wet in the dryer even on the hottest setting it is taking two cycles to dry the towels. When we...

Recheck the vent all the way to the outside and make sure the vent hose is not smashed behind the dryer.

Long time to dry complaints almost always are due to a restricted vent.

Remove vent to dryer and test a wet load if they dry ok then the house vent is at fault.

I have exactly the same problem!

Try using the tub clean cycle and use a good dose of bleach or vinegear. Here is how to run the tub clean cycle.

To start the TUB CLEAN cycle:
1. Remove any clothing or items from the washer and close the door.
2. Open the dispenser drawer and add liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment.
NOTE: Do not add any detergent to the detergent compartments. Excessive suds may be produced and leak
from the washer.
3. Close the dispenser drawer slowly.
4. Power On and then press the Extra Rinse button for 3 seconds. (Prewash option will be selected.)
5. Press the Start/Pause button to start.
6. After the cycle is complete, leave the door open to dry around the washer door opening, door seal and
door glass.

2 to 3 cycles to fully dry clothes

if the clothes are warm after the cycle then you need to make sure the vent to the outside of the house is not plugged if they are not warm then it is in the heating circuit of the dryer wether it be the element or a fuse will have to be tested. to dry clothes it takes heat and air flow if you dont have one of the two they will not dry correctly

LGE59777S Not drying

There is a little sensor that tells the dryer when to heat and when not to heat. that sensor is bad. If you take the back of the dryer off you will see it. It is about the size of a half dollar and has 2 wires that plug into it. While you have it apart make sure that the dryer vent on the back of the dryer is not plugged with lint. Major cause for fires in dryers.

Dryer takes 3-4 cycles to dry clothes

Hi first are you sure your heating element is good and working is the dryer getting hot in side when you open door to check clothes.if they are and you are sure the duct work is clear and no clogs, you might try this I have heard this from other people take your lint filter out and wash good with hot soapy water they say that after so long using dryer sheets this filter can get a invisible coating on it.
Hold the filter under water and see if it will holds water I know it sounds crazy but I have heard it from more than one source.
