Question about Computers & Internet
UDP means "User datagram Protocol" in shortly. It is a protocol of communications. It offers a limited amount of service when messages are exchanged between computers in a network that uses the Internet Protocol (IP).
It is an alternative to the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). UDP uses the Internet Protocol to actually get a data unit (datagram) from one computer to another.
UDP provides port number to distinguish different user requests and verify that the data arrived intact.
I advice you not to disable if you have Norton Internet Security Software packet. I also use Norton and I prefer not to disable it.
Hope this helps.
