You don't have to use a disk for it. The camera will automatically install the drivers required for it to be recognized by the computer. Once installed, you can access the contents of your camera by going to my computer and you will see there your camera. Just open it and it will display the pictures in the camera.
If you have msn messanger installed on your pc all you need to do is press Alt A which will bring the Actions menu select video and choose your option of having a Start a video call or Show my webcam.
You can download from any digital camara.Load the CD that came with the camara or obtain one if you can. You need the interface cable that is purchased seperately. You do not specify the camara spec so you will need to Google the" model and pc interface cable". If you have the cable then the next step is the camara driver which should be on your cd that came with the camara. Plug in the cable to the camara and to the USB port on the PC (make certain the camara is set to the Play position or PC). Windows will ask for the driver location. Insert the cd and continue. If windows does not see the driver you will need to locate it manualy from the cd or on line and download it to your desktop from the manufacturers web site. All camara companies have a support website for the drivers. Once the drivers are loaded then you need to switch the camara to the Play position so it can be seen by the computer. Go to the control panel in windows and select system then hardware then devices. If all went well you should see the camara listed as a device. Now you need the camara software or a picture viewer from the web. Here is the web kocation http://en.kioskea.net/telecharger/telecharger-653-picture-viewer
If all went properly 1. driver 2. picture software then you should be all set to handle your pictures. Good Luck Phil [email protected]
You need a firewire (iee1394) cable to connect the camara to a computer and a editing software to transfer the video to the computer.
There are two tipe of firewire connectors: 6 and 4 pin (big or little) the camara has a little one, the board for desktop computer generally are big ones, meanwhile the notebooks generally have the little (4 pin). Look at your computer because is frustrating buy a cable and isn.t the correct one. if the computer hasn't a firewire port you need a board (around 15- 20 €). If the computer is a notebook there a PCMCIA firewire card (30-50 €) card.
If you use windows you have movie maker that is a very simple editing software but it works. You can find free or cheap editing software.
you need some specific software to get or do anything with the video. even if the camera did not come with the software check for downloads available from sony first. then in addition there are also be many other options, some certainly free, depending on your platform (mac, ms, linux, etc.) a little web searching should find several options for you..
Most Canon cameras you just plug it in the computer and away it goes... If that doesn't work set it to playback mode and then plug it into the USB port. If that still doesn't work, open up My Computer on your computer and see if it shows up, if it does right click it and make sure the Auto Play is set to transfer the pictures and is not turned off.
If your camera has the video and audio output option, and you get the optional cable set to get the video and audio to feed your computer. You will need a video and audio capture card installed in to the comuter.
Depending on the setup, you may need to search for the necessary software to feed the camera video and audio out with the computer. In many instances, this would work using the software that comes with the capture card.
You need a FireWire cable and a computer with FireWire port. I have same camara - it comes with a base unit into which you have to plug in the camara. From that base unit connect the firewire cable (4pin) and take that to your computer which may have a firewire port (either 6pin or 4 pin) - depending on what kind of firewire port you have on the computer, you have to get appropriate cable ... it is my understanding that the camara doesn't come with this cable. I purchased a firewire cable with 4 pin connecter on both ends to connect to my IBM laptop with Vista on it. It works great after all this setups. It does not work with a USB cable for some reason.
