Generally if everything else looks like it is working fine, then the magnetron has quit and needs to be replaced. The magnetron is the part that heats the food. Unfortunately, it is common for this part to fail on GE microwaves and it isn't worth replacing as the cost of the part is almost the same as buying a new microwave.
Let me know how this works out for you.

How to remove model JVM3670 from cabinet

With at least two people holding up the microwave, loosen the 3 or 4 screws from above, then lower front down and lift off back rack.

The Installation manual has diagrams and instructions on how to mount it. Picture of back mounting plate.

My GE Space Saver Microwave that comes on but makes a buzz sound in operation and does not heat.

If it buzzes before you hit "Start", you may have a control circuit board problem or a door switch problem.

If it buzzes after you hit "Start", you would probably have a bad magnetron and/or high voltage rectifier diode.

We would need more details no the failure and of course the full model number to help you further.

Not heating properly

I have a GE over the range space saver microwave that was only 18 mos. old when it stopped heating. GE replaced the magnetron for us at no charge but since we did not have a service contract - they charged us $200 to install it. It only cost $375 new installed. Your choice.

JVM3670 Microwave: Food does not heat up

I'll warn you that replacing the magnetron on a GE over the range model often is a lot of work. But you can save a lot of money doing it yourself as long as you're safe.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

NOTE: There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
