Hi, My teenage daughter has an Olympus FE-230. It worked well for a while but then "all of a sudden" the LCD screen turned blurry and all the pics were now coming out blurry. I know it's not the screen itself because when I am in settings all then words and photo examples are perfectly clear.
I think she might have spilled some liquid over the lens and was wondering if there was a way (other than cleaning the glass at the end of the lens...tried it...didn't work) I could take the lens off and clean it?

Re: Blurry LCD possible lens prob?
Unfortunately not I had this issue on some cameras that I was working on the problem is your focus motor is not working correctly it has to be unstuck an the little suckers are hard has heck to replace you have to unsolder them and be really careful with that ribbon cable because I can't tell you how many of them I have ripped. it is just sometime easier to replace them or have it replaced should not be to much maybe 75 to 100 if you shop around.

This sounds remarkedly like a camera that has been dropped. Even by someone else! The odd noise it the can[mera trying to set the lens up and failing. The black screen is because the lens has not travelled the distance etc. multiple problems ! it needs a complete overhaul and may well be cheaper to ditch it and get a new camera
When I turn my camera on, the lens goes in and out a few times. Once it's finally on and I look at the screen, everything is blurry. When I take the picture, it's blurry too. If I try to use the zoom to adjust, the lens starts going in and out all crazy and won't adjust right.
I had the same problem. I hit it a long time ago when it did it for the first time. It has been a year since then and it is doing it again. I tried the book solution again and it will not work. I tried holding the lens, no luck, and I tried applying pressure when the lens went back in, again, no luck. Honestly, I don't think I will buy another Olympus fe series camera again. The solutions provided do help the first few times your camera does it, but you might want to start checking the market for a new camera.
It's possible this is a repair issue with the LCD screen of the camera especially if you are able to review previous images but cannot take any new images. You may want to call Customer Service to discuss repair options. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3.
