Question about Sony Reader Touch PRS-600

1 Answer

I have a prs600 but find that the battery does not last as long as claimed in fact I have to recharge after roughly 200 page turns. This is the second reader (the first was changed by sony) and it is no better. Is this a fault or do they all react like his?

AA battery recharger is flashing red

All I can see is that your charger is flashing red. There wasn't any brand mentioned. Most battery chargers flash green when in charging mode, solid green when charging is complete and flashing red when there is an issue with the battery/batteries being charged. Rechargeable batteries don't last forever (usually 200-300 charges) and perhaps this is the case with yours. Also, if you are using imported batteries (China), that would be a major red flag!

My Canon A640 is eating batteries! I have tried 2 sets of rechargeable batteries, both 2800mAh. After an overnight charge these will give me 5 or 6 pictures before giving up. I would hate to give up on...

I'm going to assume this camera is not new as the first review launch date was in 2006 and updated in 2007. If the rechargeable batteries are two years old my first suspicions would be that the batteries have acquired a short term memory. Contrary to what the manufactures claim these batteries do get "lazy" The problem stems from not completely discharging/exhausting the batteries before putting them on a charger. If the batteries are constantly drained lets say to have power then charged again they will eventually give you only 1/4 there power before the battery indicator shows exhausted. What I have my associates do now is put the batteries in lantern type flash lights and just kill 'em then place them on the charger. Yes i did have to triple the amount of batteries in the fleet BUT now instead of getting six months out of a set of batteries we now have gotten two years. Also there are new types of rechargeable batteries on the market that are in the 2000mAh range that will retain 80% of their power if left standing dormant. I didn't think these would work and was always trying to get the most powerful batteries I could but these have proven my theory incorrect and in actual fact will out last the 2800mAh battery. I don't know where in the world you are but my first introduction to this type batter was with a Sony brand, now I have seen them in the department store check out line. It's pretty easy to find then as they state right on the package ready to use and claim the battery power holding capabilities right on the package. I don't think it's your camera I'm sure it's the batteries you are feeding it. Hope this was a help

Have an acer aspire 5002WLMi laptop bought second hand. no manual. old battery. If I bought a new battery, how long of a charge would I get. Is it ok to continually use my adapter/recharge cord when I use...

I use the adapter plugged in all day long, it will not do any damage to your battery. You can leave it plugged in a work as long as you want. Just make sure you get the lithium ion battery as that is the latest..in fact I would get it off of the Acer home page if possible. As for as how long a battery last, depends on the usage and how many times you recharge it. Lithium are good for over 1000 recharges so again depends on your usage. Its the recharge that wears it down. Hope this helps. Pls rate this solution.

Lumix dmc-lz5 replace battery

Try replacing the button battery first and see if that helps...Some batteries simply just do not last as long as other brands. Try switching brands (for the regular AA batteries) and see if this also helps..

One recharging will last for about 80 shots when the flash is used half the time and the LCD Monitor is turned on, and about 200 shots when the flash is used half the time and the LCD Monitor is turned off.
