You did remove the cabinet to replace the lid switch correct?, try removing it again and unclip the pump assy dont remove the hoses, just unclip form motor assy and hold out of the way, try putting unit into a spin cycle now.. is it spinning ?? or at least he motor spinning??? this is a direct drive unit so as long as he motor spins the pump also spins, with exception of a bad pump , something clogged inside the pump, or an obstruction in the drain line itself.. if the motor not turning at this point id have to believe that switch isn't making contact( but is new and it sure should be)timers not sending down power (doubtfull).alll seems pretty doubtful less the bad switch( remember that with the cabinet removed youll need to TEMPORALLY jump out the lid switch,

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
A washing machine won't spin if the water can't drain. Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem.
2

If the washer still won't drain or spin, check to see if the lid is not closing all the way or if the lid switch is not clicking into place. Close the lid and make sure that it closes all the way down. When the lid closes, the lid switch should click. If there is no clicking sound, then the switch may need to be replaced. Follow manufacturer's directions for replacing the switch. If the lid does not close all the way, visually check for signs that the lid is bent. If bent, try to bend it back into place.
3

Loose or broken belts could also prevent a washing machine from draining or spinning. Pull the washer away from the wall and, using the screwdrivers and wrenches, remove the back panel. Using the flashlight, visually check for any broken or loose belts. Replace any broken or loose belts. Although replacing washing machine belts is difficult, anyone who has replaced belts on a car, lawn mower or even a bicycle chain should be able to accomplish the task.
4

Another possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power. If the washer is getting power, turn on the washer and listen to find out if the pump is running but the water is still not draining. It may be necessary to remove the pump and clean it or to replace the pump with a new one. Once the pump is replaced, turn on the washer to determine if it will now drain and spin.

If all of the above steps fail to produce a washing machine that drains or spins, then it is time to call a professional repairman. Use the screwdrivers and wrenches to replace the panel on the washer and push it back against the wall.

Hi,

There are several reasons why a washing machine won't drain or spin. The cause could be something as easy as a clog or something difficult that will need a licensed repairman. Start with the simplest possible cause and work down to the more difficult causes.

Find some possible cause and how to solve the problem:

Good luck.

I have a WM2277HS TROMM Washing Machine and at the end of the cycle the water does not drain nor does it spin. Therefore, the rinse & spin cycle only rinses but does not drain the water nor spins. ...

Sounds like a bad lid switch. Check to see if you hear a "click" from the switch when you open and close the lid. If you do not, then you should replace the lid switch.

Does not drain

this model as well as many other frontloaders has a perpencity to get things caught in the pump
if you can pull out the machine take off the back wall,, you will see the pump, put the unit into drain,
can you hear a hum or sound of any kind,
if so its probably working but just hanging up,
take off the hoses and inspect the pump
dont forget to unplug the machine, and be prepared to loose about 12 cups of water or more

F 2 error message

Hi there,

Try the following:
1) Turn off breaker to unit, for safety.
2) removed the front panel, as described above.
3) removed the screw holding the drain pump filter assembly to the main unit.
4) gently pulled the drain pump filter assembly out of the channels holding it to the washer chasis.
5) gently pulled it out far enough to reach over a car washing bucket I had put into the open riser drawer.
6) gently unscrew the filter drain knob enough to release water into the bucket. If your using a smaller drain catch (cooking pan, oil pan, etc) you'll likely need to close the drain knob and empty your water.
7) once all the water was out (~3 gallons I think), I pulled out the filter to find my prize..... Five of my 2 year old's missing socks, including some since he was a newborn. Yeah... yuck!
8) cleaned out the filter and filter assembly... and threw away the socks and other goop.
9) Put it all back together: put the filter back in, returned it to its chasis housing, and put the screw back in the filter assembly. Then, put the front panel back on and flipped the breaker back on.

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Turns on makes weird humming noise

The noise is most likely your drain pump trying to clear water from the sump area. If you remove the bottom screws holding the lower access panel in place, look for the drain pump and a block rubber hose connected to it. I suspect there is something preventing the pump from draining all the water. Remove the clamp holding the hose to the pump (have towels handy as there will be water) and clean out the sump, then put it back together and give the washer another try.

I have a whirlpool model LSR 8233JQ0 washing machine. The tub will fill and agitate but will not empty out or spin. I replace the lid switch without success. The machine makes a sort of ticking sound...

you say it wont drain the water??? if it fills, agitates , and doesnt advance past the first rinse cycle, it does sound like a lid switch issue, can you hear the switch "clicking" when the door is just about closed??? if not then its not recognizing the door and wont advance for safety reasons.and when you replaced the switch were you sure to remember ot replug the harness before reassmbleing the unit
