Amana ACD106R 10,200 BTU 110V window unit - E1 error code

When the power went out last week, came back on in about 2 or 3 minutes, I now have an error code "E1" in display, and nothing works. I have reset power cord switch, as I was not getting a reading at all until then. Anyone know the codes for my Amana ACD106R 10,200 BTU 110V window unit? It's been a great A/C and haven't had any problems before this.

Thank you for your response, Ladyybug68. I have tried that. As a matter of fact, I left it unplugged for an hour or so, but it comes back with the same code. I was hoping that it would reset the board, but no such luck. :-) I have found the board online (including the LED and control board) for $41.+, but wanted to make sure that the boards were bad b4 I replaced them. There is also a fuse on the back board, and I checked it with OHM meter, and it was good. The only thing I can see that would cause this would be the boards, as that is all that is there except for the capacitors. Thank you for your help!

Have you tried to pull the power cord and wait approx 10 minutes before plugging it back in? ....It might reset the control board. :-)

E1 error code displays when unit is plugged in I have a wall unit with about 10,000 BTU capacity. Two days ago, it quit working and displayed the E1 error code. I unplugged the unit, let it sit for 10...

highly annoying issue error code E1. After hours
of fan operation, the error code E1 will appear on the seven segment
LED temperature display. This error code is intended as a reminder for
the user to clean the air filter. However, because the procedure
outlined in the user manual does not clear this error code as
indicated, and the appliance has a nonvolatile memory that cannot be
reset by simply unplugging it, the user of the appliance will become
mightily frustrated, standing in potentially sweltering heat watching
the appliance repeatedly shut down in the midst of operation with the
"E1" display flashing.

Believe it or not, that is what it does: if you unplug it to remove the
"E1" code from the display, and plug it back in and re-start it, it
will simply run for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, and
then merrily shut down again with the same flashing "E1" code.

So you will come home to a hot bedroom, living room, etc. unexpectedly,
and you will NOT be amused, as I was not.

Many people at this point, having put the manual under the canary or
some such, will simply return the unit and never buy another Sharp air
conditioner. But for the tech-savvy and search-adept, I offer the
following procedure to clear the nefarious E1 indication, and obtain

1. Power down the air conditioner using the "power" button on the front
panel.
2. Unplug the air conditioner from the wall socket.
3. Hold the front panel "power" button down and plug the air
conditioner in. Continue to hold the power button down as the machine
goes through a brief test sequence (fan & compressor each come on
briefly, etc). There is a "beep" sound at the end of the test sequence,
and the machine will be off. At this point, you can release the power
button.
4. Unplug the air conditioner.
5. Plug the air conditioner back in.
6. Congratulations! You should now be able to operate the air
conditioner normally for another 720 hours, but only if you followed
the instructions above EXACTLY.

Getting an E1 error message..wont start

Hi,
1. Unplug unit. 2. Hold down power button while plugging in unit. It will do a short self-test and then beep. leaving unit off. 3. Release power button and unplug. 4. Plug in again and turn on normally. This should last for about 720 hours, at which point the E1 error will come back and you need to follow the procedure again. (You might as well clean the air filter at this point just in case it really needed it...)
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

E1 error code on air conditioner

I called haier about this error code. E1 indicates that a button on the control panel or the reomote is stuck. I was instructed to unplug the unit and push each button at least 5 times, one at a time. Plug the unit back in, and this fixed my problem with error E1 and the unit works fine.

"Cool" mode shuts off

An E1 error is automatically generated after the AC runs for so many hours to remind you to clean the filter. The owners manual says to clean the filter and unplug the unit, then plug unit back in and code will be reset. However, a User review stated that his code was not reset until he followed a fairly simple routine. "Unplug the unit. Hold down the power button and plug back in. Wait to hear a "beep" and then unplug it again. Plug unit in again and it should restart without E1 code."
