There are several things that could be causing this - the thermostat, the limit thermostat, or the tank heater itself. You can start checking by unplugging the unit, then remove the screws from the lid. Carefully lift the lid until you can reach the wires going to the top burner. Pull these wires off, placing them where they won't make contact with the metal on the unit. Look inside the unit, and see if there are any wires burnt off. If not, look at the small limit thermostat that is located on the top of the tank. It's a little round white unit. Move it around, and see if it's loose or broken. lift the metal tab, and take the limit thermostat out. Many of these units break apart, and quit working. If it's broken, take the two wires off it, and replace it. If not, then it will probably the thermostat or the tank heater. To see which it is, take the wires off the tank heater -the two poles sticking out of the tank lid. Using a voltmeter, check for resistance across the two poles. There should be resistance there. Also, check for continuance from the heater posts to ground by placing one lead on the heater post, and touch the other to the side or top of the tank. If the needle moves at all, your tank heater is shorting to ground, and needs to be replaced. If these tests are ok, then the main thermostat needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Tip

Save hundreds of dollars each year with this simple water saving tip!

We all read lots of tips when it comes to saving water....but this tip is probably the best kept secret in the water saving arena!! Whenever you are preparing the water for a shower begin by turning the hot water on full and leaving the cold water completely off UNTIL the hot water begins to flow. THEN add the cold into the mix. Other wise, you send hundreds of gallons of cold water down the drain if you begin by letting a mixture of hot and cold run until it finally gets hot. WHY is this the case. Because, the hot water sitting in the hot water pipe cools off over time. The only way to actually get the hot water to the spout is to displace all of the cooled off water out of the hot water pipe until the hot water starts to flow again!

Hot water heater has hot in tank but dose not come out of hot water line on tank

most electric hot water systems use a heat transfer process where the element is in one tank and the house water is in another
the house water is what is being drawn off when you turn on a tap
there is a regulator valve at the top of the tank with a small lever that you open up to let water in and air out of the system
another point is that there may be a hot/cold mixer on the hot water outlet which limits the temperature of hot water to prevent scalding injuries in the bath and shower or sink
If you have one fitted they are known to malfunction and cut the hot water temperature down as, they mix too much cold water into the hot water pipe.
have a plumber check it out

Does anyone know Why the hot water does not go into the machine when using warm water selection, hot water is in hose but not in machine ?

The hot water valve is not opening. This could be the valve or the timer. What make and model and year is it?

Hot water connected but does not fill into the drum? The machine will provide us with a cold wash but on the warm and hot settings the hot water dies not pull through the connection

Turn off the water valves which supply the water to washer hoses. Switch the hot and cold water supply hoses and tighten. Turn the water valves back on and try to run a wash cycle using cold. If hot water only is entering the wash tub the water supply is ok. If this is the case you can unplug the washer and turn off the water valves. Remove the washer back cover and follow the water connection for the hot water. The water solenoid valve will have two electrical wires connected to it. Interchange the hot water solenoid wires with the cold water solenoid connection. Connect the water supply hoses hot to hot and cold to cold then plug the unit then test the washer on the cold wash. If the problem persists it could be a water hose restriction or the timer circuit could be defective. If you have hot water at the normal pressure purchase a new hot water solenoid valve. With the electrical cord unplugged be sure to restore the correct wire connections on the hot and cold water solenoid. To replace the hot water solenoid remove the hose clamp and hose to replace the old valve. Connect the unit to the water and electrical outlet. Turn on the water and test the unit for leaks being careful not to touch any electrical and moving parts. If all checks ok and the correct temperature work, unplug the unit and reassemble.

Asko dishwasher d3530. The water in the dishwasher is not hot.

Generally speaking, dishwashers don't heat cold water on their own. Be sure the dishwasher is connected to a hot water supply and that hot water is available to the dishwasher at the START of the cycle.

Often it takes hot water several seconds for house plumbing to deliver hot water to an outlet. If the dishwasher is connected to the kitchen hot water supply, run the water in the sink until the water runs hot before you start the dishwasher.

Dishwashers often have heaters to heat the water even hotter than most home water heaters, but they are not intended to heat cool or cold water. You MUST furnish hot water to the dishwasher from the time the cycle is started.

I've seen houses that take so long for hot water to reach a faucet, the dishwasher is already full (of cold water) before the first drop of hot water reaches it.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

No cold water, Only hot water in showers.

The plumbers screwed up when they installed your showers. There are two connections on each shower. one for hot and one for cold. they connected the two hot water lines together with a T fitting and then ran a line to the main hot water line and tied it in. Then they connected the two cold water fittings with a T and ran that line to the main hot water line and tied it in there instead of into a cold water line like they were suppose to. This is the only possible logical solution to this problem. They tied your cold water connections to both showers into a hot water line instead of a cold water line.

Hot water not really hot

I have never heard of this before, and have always piped dishwashers off the hot water line. Not to say it could not be done the other way, I would refer to the instructions that came with the dishwasher, and if they say to connect to the hot water line, to have the technician come back and fix it. If it says to connect to cold water line, then manufacturers know best.....Hope this helps
