If the LCD on my digital camera shattered thru the insde, in your opinion do you think it can be repaired and be as new again. The camera is only 6 mos old and is in excellent condition until the shattering.

You may be able to buy a new screen for your camera and fit it yourself.
It takes a bit of know how but can be done if you take your time.
Check the internet to see if a replacement screen can be bought for your camera.

The LCD itself may not have problems. If it ain't broken it most probably doesn't have a problem. Most likely the problems you have are given by a faulty connector between the LCD and the camera's mainboard. You should take the camera to a service center to have it checked. Tell them to make an estimate over the repair costs before they actually do something. In this way you will know what prices can you espect over the repair. I'll give about 60% chances that this is a minor defect involving that connector. In this case they will just need to reconnect it back firmly.
