Question about Lands Phones

Open Question

My DECT6.0 Cordless answering system Model 28101 with 5 handsets has started having a loud pitch tone on the phoneset (any of them) when you push talk. Have had providers check lines and no problem. We have one normal not wireless phone that seems to not have the high pitch tone when you press talk. If someone calls in you can see the caller ID of who it is, but you cannot here them over the high pitch tone if you push talk to answer. Has not always dones this. Worked fine for many months. Does anyone have something to check? The handsets are Model 28128 series phones. Not having much luck troubleshooting this!

We bought ours in Dec. 2007 and it worked fine until about a week ago. We don't have a high pitch whine but we can't hear anyone on the other end when we answer. They can hear us. When we call out, we get a tone but no ringing and we can't hear the folks who answer though, again, their phone rings and they hear us. It doesn't match any troubleshooting mentioned in the manual.

SOURCE: brand new cordless handset -- no dial tone, no ring!

I doubt it's the battery. As I understand it the base works fine and the problem is only with a cordless phone. Are you using an external charger stand for the cordless handset? These phones need to be registered to the base unit. That is usually done by installing the cordless phone in the base unit but you may need to do that shortly after insalling the battery or you could have a register button or setting.

SOURCE: INNOVAGE TALKING CALLER ID LCD TOUCH PANEL PHONE

there is a "special feature" for privacy that can be turned on or off...when on it is supposed to keep others from eavesdropping - but it actually will not let other phones work...turn that off (settings 1 is for date, go to settings8) and it will complement your other phones and work.!!

SOURCE: Caller ID not working

This is a Definity system phone. The phones themselves have nothing to do with caller ID, it's the system that handles it. The phone line has to have the caller ID service AND the phone system needs to collect the information and then display it on your phone. If you are sure caller ID service is available on the phone line you are using than this is a programming issue. Definity is a huge system and you cannot program it yourself. Someone in your building is either in charge of making simple changes in the phone system or contacting the company that makes these changes for you.

SOURCE: handset has No link to base

I was having the same problem with the same model phone, and fixed the problem by rebooting the phone – unplugging the AC and phone cord from the base station and plugging both back it, then removing and replacing the handset to regenerate the security code.

Handsets give 3 beeps, no dialtone

Either they are not powered up, or the mother has lost power.  Make sure the mother and children bases have power and leave the handsets in the bases long enough to charge.

I am having problem with my cordless phone.

Another tip is to remove the battery from the handset for at least 5 seconds. You might want to get a voltage meter and check the voltage on that new battery - maybe it isn't charging properly.

GE handset 28101 will not sync with base-GE 28129

Unplug power cord from the base for ten or fifteen minutes, this is the only user level operation that you can do to try fixing the problem.

If after resetting the base still do not find the handset, then either the base or the handset is faulty.

If the base works fine with a different handset, then it is the handset.
