It can be virus problem. Try to go in 'Safe mode with networking' (press few times F8 when computer start to get menu options). Download ESET (Nod32) Online Scanner: http://go.eset.com/us/online-scanner Scan your computer with repair option on. After that update your Windows. If you can't do that from Microsoft, you can use AutoPatcher.exe utility: http://www.autopatcher.com/downloads/ I don't think it is keyboard problem. You have free AVG good antivirus for homeusers. Good luck!
Why download Java?
Java technology allows you to work and play in a secure computing environment.
Java allows you to play online games, chat with people around the world, calculate your mortgage interest, and view images in 3D, just to name a few.
After you've downloaded Java, visit java.com to check out Java in Action in your daily life.
If the hardware works fine in some places, but not good in others, it is not a hardware problem. If you can type in word, and wordpad and notepad without any issues, but certain websites or gaming sites or even video games give you trouble, there is nothing wrong with the hardware. If it is failing on websites, that could be a website issue, or a web browser issue. In a nutshell, it sounds like you have a software bug, or possibly even some sort of key-logger happening, making your typing erratic on websites. In my opinion, it sounds like you might need to scan your pc for spyware and virus issues, possibly even prepare for a reformat. Sorry for the trouble, good luck.
If it is not working only in specific games, then the issue is most likely with the game itself, or some settings therein. Your keyboard does not require a driver for the key to work. The generic drivers that come built-in with Vista should make any keyboard to work. A keyboard driver is only needed to program the hot keys and play/volume etc. functions.
Try the tilde key in Notepad or MS Word. If it works there, then the issue is with the game. You will have to refer to the game manual to find out how to program the key.
If, however, the key does not work in Notepad / Word either, then your keyboard is most likely defective.

P.S. – I would greatly appreciate a FixYa!
rating if the solution I provided fixed or helped you resolve your problem.
Solution. My wireles keyboard stopped working except for the F-Lock key, the Media key and the sleep key. It wasn't batteries, even though I tried, communication was there because the above keys were working. Remove the batteries from your keyboard and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Press the red connect button a few times and other various keys every few minutes during that time. This may be the whole "capacitor discharge" trick, but I tired that with someone elses instructions and my keyboard did not work after 2 minutes of key pressing. I think it just needed more time to clear out the secure settings. Good luck, I was about to trash this keyboard until I tried again
If youyr lights above the Num Lock Button are on then i would serggest you try unplugging your key board and restsrting your PC when the PC pings the replace your keyboard and check that the lights are working by pressing the Num Lock Button this should let you use the numbers
hope this works Paddy
These are the guys you need to contact;
- they have an online driver download for the HO98055(which is a mouse and keyboard package so the keyboard could be the same) and which may work fine but i have not been able to confirm this.
Other driver download sites seem to be all silent about this keyboard model - perhaps few were made.
Hope this helps, please ask again if you get no luck from Jasco(they run GE computer accessories now)
