google to see several posts on projection tv red light blinking from several different manufactures (sony; toshiba; samsung; philips; you name it) and several models.
Guys, I 've replaced my STK's and and it was a 2 and a half hour challenge job for me, in the hope I solve the dreaded red light blinking issue. I have soldered both STK's nice and neat and everything looks in order. One of the problems you might face, is your soldering gun. There are 4 heavy duty pins that keeps each STK in place, and you need a powerful gun to take care of those. The rest of the pins are very small, and you need a different setup for your soldering gun. You also need a suction pen to be able to to take all those pins out.
But it's not a heavy headache, it's just a light one:)
Also the thing is to remember each wire assembly you disconnect and put it back. It takes patience, and you don't wanna destroy them :( For some , that by itself could be a challenge. The Board containing the two STK's is connected to the power board with three neat assemblies....you pry those up from the top suction, and away from the power board.
BUT, as I recall, most of the challenge has to clear that board loose.
I hope this helps.
Could I get a copy of that manual please? Sometimes my remote works / and sometimes it doesn't. I use other remotes which are programmed for the TV, but it's the receiver eye on the TV which is intermittent. Does anyone know of a fix??
I have the same thing going on with mine. What it is the SLR main Reg. is bad. The only way you can fix it is you can't put just one part in it you have to replace one of the boards. When you open the back panel up you will see three boards in a roll the one that needs replacing is the power board you have to get the model number. My Tv is a 65 HD model 65h81 the board on mine has a part number of PD 7400 yours will have something like that. Well let me know how it's goes my E-Mail is [email protected]
Not an easy fix....requires chassis pull, careful soldering and
replacement of parts and fuses.....would you like step-by-step?
