Lift the edge of the belt on one side and apply the silicone between the belt and deck. Then do the same to the other side. Once you have applied the silicone, walk on the belt to help spread the silicone on the belt.

Precor belts are silicone belts NOW. Your treadmill is WAX. If you look at the backside of the deck (facing floor) you will see a wax coating! Use Landice slipcoat!!! I am an authorized Precor Tech. Silicone would be used on any of the new units. Not yours!

Video of How to Lubricate a Treadmill using Liquid Lube
Video about How to Lubricate a Treadmill using Liquid Lube

  • This vidoe will demonstrate how to properly lubricate your treadmill belt and deck. This demonstration is for the application of liquid lube.
  • To begin, clean the deck and belt by loosening the rear roller bolts 10 turns as seen in the video. It is best to loosen each side five turns and then repeat the process.
  • Now that the belt is loose you can take an old towel and place it under the belt as shown in the video. Move the towel up and down the deck, then using your hands pull the belt around half way to ensure you have completely cleaned the back of the belt. Then remove the towel.
  • Open your lube packet and use half of the package to make a half circle on the deck, from the front outer portion of the deck toward the center and then back to the outer edge. Use about half the package for this arc. Now repeat the process on the opposite side. Be sure to wipe up any excess oil as it is very slick!
  • Use your hand to move the belt around some more to begin spreading the lubricant out.
  • Now tighten the rear roller bolts back to the exact amount of turns they were loosened previously.
  • Power on and start the machine and let it run slowly for a few seconds to make sure the belt is staying aligned in the center of the deck area. If it is not centered correctly, make minor adjustments to correct the issue. Tighten the left bolt to move the belt to the right and tighten the right bolt to move the belt to the left. Now walk on the belt for a minute or so to fully distribute the lubricant.
  • This concludes todays demonstration of how to lubricate a treadmill using the liquid lube.

I am assuming you have never waxed your machine before. If this is the case, you should be safe using the liquid silicone lube. When this becomes an issue is if you were using the powder wax and tried to change to a silicone liquid. It would still work, but you would, more than likely, end up with some wax build up on your rollers.

If you really have a 'black dust' issue, your machine would be at least 7 years old - if it is less than 10 years, the parts would be under warranty, assuming you bought it new. One or both rollers and the walking belt would need to be replaced. You were advised to call Precor - did you? I am surprised the retailer did not offer any help - this seems like poor customer service.

Hello, Our Precor 9.21si begins slipping after walking or running a few minutes. Seems to be worse the faster you go. After about 1 mile, the house fuse blows. What troubleshooting steps do you thi

This really sounds like the results of long term use without lubrication or wax between the belt and deck. Chances are you will need to replace the running belt and the deck or flip the deck if it has not already been done. The friction builds up between the deck and belt and caused the electronic components to overheat. The machine is shutting down as a precautionary measure. It will do this only so many times before the electronics are zapped. Start with the deck and belt. Hopefully the electronics are okay. Precor C966i The unit turns off at random intervals. When reset it comes back on then shuts off a few minutes later. Error log is empty so not an error with software.

LUBE or wax the deck belt, this happen because you do not lube or wax your equipmente according with the schedule maintenance, you must do it, every week. Do it now.use 100% silicone lube-
2) LUBE the rollers bearing too use WD-40 for rollers b only.

Check your Amps on the circuit that is being tripped. The treadmill needs 15 Amps to run. If you have a 15 Amp circuit that is running the treadmill and other electronics (or lights), the circuit will trip. You may need to replace the circuit with more Amps.

I have the Precor 9.31 and it is 4 years old. When I start going fast the power shuts off completley. I am 210 pounds and this happens to me, however my wife is 120 pounds and is not having a problom.

SOUND LIKE A LUBRICATION ISSUE DEPENDING ON THE MANUFACTURER NOW A DAYS SYN SILICON IS USED ON MOST PHENOLIC DECKS IF NO MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE I WOULD ALSO CHECK THE FOR UNEVEN SURFACE AND THE BELT MAYBE TO WORN AND THE LUBRICATE WILL NOT BE EFFECTIVE , BUT ITS CHEAPER TO TRY LUBE THAN NEW BELT AND DECK. Overheating??

If you are able tho rest it then I suggest this procedure as I have for all Precors: Sounds like the wax lubrication has finally boiled off the belt, the easiest way eliminate this problem is to rewax the deck. You may purchase this @ http://www.gympart.com/ or call them 1-800-496-7278 I would recommend what is call WAX BLAST they come in 3oz or 6oz bottles.
Now the fun part to apply this product you must first get the treadmill and walk on it for about 5min to heat up the deck, then stop the unit with your product go to upper third of the belt lift edge of the belt stick the nozzle between the belt and deck squeeze the bottle approx. amount 1 tbs of wax to the center then get back on the treadmill and walk for 10 min this is to heat up the wax so that belt will act like a wick to absorb wax! This should be done every 3 months or so. Their a catch if this does fix the problem you may be investing in a new belt and possible and new deck. Hope this take of it!!

Same problem

I would suggest that you reattach the two wire that their because the unit is pull too much current and that safety feature is to protect both motor and lower board from damage. If you have not been instructed by your local dealer about preventative maintenance Most Precor running are double sided, which means both surfaces are usable and are coated with wax. The easiest way without dismantling your unit is to follow this procedure:
