Washing machine will not drain.

I have a whirlpool LSR8233JQ0 washing machine. The tub fills up, and agitates, but will not empty or spin. The machine makes a ticking sound when I turn the knob to spin cycle. Replace lid switch without success.

    i had the same problem, so i repalced the timer, but ti still does not wrrk. The wires leaving the timer get real warm, but nothing below is working, just drawing current.

    help, I'm about to toss this 8 year old washer, but I'd rather fix it.

I have the same problem. If I press on the lid by the switch it starts up and finishes the load. Hope this works for you!

I have a whirlpool washer model lsr8233jq0. It was working fine until I moved. I think my "movers" might have damaged it. The tub will fill with water and it will spin but the tub won't drain. I don't...
Tilt it on it's side (once you drain it, using a shop vac). Locate the drain hose, it's connected to the pump. Remove hose, See if anything is blocking the exit.

While it's on its side, check and see if your "movers" (Which probably means means uncle bob and his beer buddy roy) might have disconnected and wires leadign the the pump... 99.999% of connectors are simple push on type.

Maybe the agitator isnt agitated enough.....yell at it for a bit...see what happens....if it that dont make it spin poor a lil rum in the tub....

you say it wont drain the water??? if it fills, agitates , and doesnt advance past the first rinse cycle, it does sound like a lid switch issue, can you hear the switch "clicking" when the door is just about closed??? if not then its not recognizing the door and wont advance for safety reasons.and when you replaced the switch were you sure to remember ot replug the harness before reassmbleing the unit
