Question about Samsung SyncMaster 932B LCD Monitor

2 Answers

I rebooted my PC and now screen is darker and my colors are off

I have another monitor which is an IBM 9511-AG1, so I hooked it up to my PC and the screen is not dark like the Samsung SyncMaster 932B and the colors are fine. So it does not appear to be a card in my PC, rather the problem seems to be with the Samsung SyncMaster 932B. Has my SamSung SyncMaster 932B monitor gone bad?

Is the power button on while the screen is dark? If yes, it means your monitor has gone bad and the problem could be that the picture board of your monitor is bad that is why it is not displaying anything because another monitor works fine with you PC.

It means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Check the contrast (darkness/lightness) on your Samsung LCD. There's a menu button on the monitor, press that and select contrast setting from the Menu.

Monitor losing brightness

Well it does sound like your monitor is going to die soon. You'll just need to replace it, trying to fix a 7yr old monitor is exactly worth it. Fixing it would be costly so you may as well buy a new one.not sure what you mean by integrated with drive unit. some elaborating would help :D

Monitor is broken would like to hook up a desktop monitor

Does that monitor work on another computer?..if yes, then try uninstalling your display adapter, loacated in devices manager, reboot your system and windows will reload the drivers.Make sure you have the monitor plugged in when you do this. You may also want to try setting your windows color resolution to 800x600(medium),as the monitor may not handle higher resolution...good luck..please let me know if that works:)

After a short power outage (2 minutes max) my monitor ( acer al1711)cannot display green. Is the problem the monitor or the drivers?

It sounds like a surge may have damaged the monitor. Try rebooting your system, and if that doesn't work, reinstall the drivers. If the problem persists, the monitor may have been damaged by a power surge and it may have to be serviced/replaced.

I hope this helps :)

Best Regards,

Ibm 9513-ag1 flat monitor broken switch

I have the same monitor. I had the same problem you have. I couldn't find the correct replacement part so I improvised. The plastic part you refered to just activates a micro switch on the circuit board. In my case the micro switch worked just fine so I used 5 plastic buttons off of some ball point pens as a replacement. I took the monitor out of its plastic case and drilled holes in the front bezel directly over each of the 5 micro switches. I then put the buttons from the ball point pens in holes. So now the push buttons from the ball point pens act as a substitute for the broken part. I hope this helps.

Laptop doesn't see the monitor i attach to it

1st off there is a Fn key, I think Fn + F5? to turn the monitor on. It is a toggle button that toggles between only the monitor or monitor and Laptop screen both or just the laptop screen.

I hope that can help, if not, please tell me what you have tried. As in, does the monitor work on another PC/Laptop?

G'luck

IBM 9513 DWO

Dont know if you ever got an answer for this question but no the 9513 will only accept DVI input. You cannot change it to accept analogue.

You can test the monitor by using a HMDI to DVI input if you have satellite or cable box with a HMDI output.

Screen colors

possibly screen color depth is set to 16 colors. - open control panel display - settings tab, slide the color depth to 16 bit. - change resolution to 800 x 600 for now. reboot and see if that does the trick, then readjust settings to your tastes.
