Your power supply cables may not be fully secured. Let's unplug and reconnect your power supply
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of your console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and the power supply unit.
  2. Reconnect the power cord to the console. Then plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the power supply unit
  3. Make sure that all three connections are firmly secured.
  4. Turn your console back on.
  5. Check the light on the power supply. If this solution worked, your power supply light will be green....

if the unit was purchased less than three years ago you can still get it covered under warranty as addressed on microsoft by clicking here. this is actually a serious problem and effects a few consoles, much like the RROD if it is not under warranty you can try doing this and i stress the not. Make sure of this by calling microsoft before attempting this. if you do not want to do the overheat fix i suggest either A. find a company that fixes xbox's and provides a real reflow. Not a heatgun and a fan. But a actual infrared reflow station. or B. Send it to microsoft and pay the money to get it repaired. or C. sell it on your local craigslist or to someone that repairs them locally and use the money to buy a new xbox 360 slim or a used xbox 360 that is working but then someone might have already done the overheat trick and it may not have much life left.

i have done this before and after he 2nd time i sent it to a company to reflow the xbox for 30 dollars. An i havent had a problem since. remember what is done in the video is only if your not covered under the extended warranty or e74

E74, 1light, and everythings fine but it's not working

ya it has to do with the solder on the gpu same thing that causes red ring of death causes the e74 when you had the guy check it out you should have had him reflow it and you wouldnt have this problem.

make sure you have the cords hooked in right, especially if your using HDMI because ive seen HDMI compatible tv's with atleast 30 ports on the back. it get confusing, but if your using just the normal A/V cords, then you should check the connection between the tv and the xbox.
