if no any power indicator at the front panel it was an indication of bad power supply board. you must check a blown fuse, if get bad next you will need a component checking which may have shorted parts. which need a proper device and tools.if you don't have any idea in electronic repair just leave it to the trained tv repairman.

VIZIO VS470 WON'T TURN ON

do you mean the power indicator at the front panel doesn't light.ok this kind of trouble is in power supply section since the stand by doesn't work. the first place to be check is the fuse if blown. if blown with darkened color that was an indication that has other component part that get shorted. at this time you will need a proper trouble shooting using the a device like a digital or analog tester. if you don't have enough idea on how to do the job and necessary tools, just send it to the trusted service shop to fix the problem.thanks for using the fixya.

if their is no power indicator at all that was mean the power supply failure. look for blown fuse, if the fuse is blown with darkened color you need to check first other component that get shorted pin before you replaced the fuse like zener diode and fet transistor. if you don't have an idea on how it will be trouble shot just send it to the service center near you.

LG 42" Plasma no picture but has sound

Before replacing a blown fuse, always check for short circuit in an analogue multimeter. Otherwise, you are likely to cause more damage to the board.

I have a 42edt41a. The other day I turned the TV on and heard a loud pop. Now there is no picture, no power LED or nothing. I looked in the back and can see there are 3 blown fuses. Would replacing them...

You can use a brush to clean the inside and look for any bits or pieces of component in the board. if so this will indicate the component and the relativity to the POP noise. It can be a capcitor shorting and bursting or even a transistor that has popped. The fuse being blown is due to a failure and it can be SHORT in the board. You need to use a multimeter to probe the +B and trace the short, Isolate the sections and it will lead to the shorted ccomponent.

I have an LG 42PX3RVA. The screen went blank, but there is sound. I don't know it there was a "pop", because I was not at home when it happened. I have disconnected the power and checked all...

Test the fuses using a fuse tester, if you don't have one then use a flashlight and some wires,
connect the light in series with the fuse and the batteryfor the light if it turns on the fuse is good if not then it is blown and should be replaced.

Watching the TV and heard a "pop", it went dead. Opened up the back and found a blown 4A 125V fuse. Replaced fuse and plugged in TV. Fuse blew instantly when I plugged in the TV. Sylvania...

The power suply unit may be dead......if the fuse blows instantly it means that the main input is short.
possible parts damaged :the diodes from the mains, the power tranzistor and the ic from the primary part and other components around them.
First unplug the tv, unload the mains capacitor (using a light bulb) check all the diodes from the rectifing bridge, check for any shortened semiconductors or blow resistors.

I have a fuse blown problem on an lcd tv if i replace the fuse is this will work?? or any other component cause this probelm

Fuses do not normally blow for no reason unless there's a short circuit caused by a defective part inside the circuitry.
Is it up to you to try to install a new fuse and hopefully it might not blow, but it has to be the same rating as the blown one.
Let me know if you require further assistance.
