Sylvania lcd color tv

When I plug the tv the fuse blows.
I have replaced this fuse with the same type slow burn fuse and It blows as soon as I plug it into the wall

I blew the fuse (125v 4A) so I replaced it and it blew again. I tried a different outlet to make sure it wasn't the plug strip and it blew again. Anyone have the same problem or know how to narrow down what component is shorted out?

Watching tv and lost all picture and sound. Found the fuse to be blown. Replaced fuse and plugged back in. 2nd fuse blew instantly. Bought a surge protector and replaced the fuse again. Again it immediately blew upon plugging in. Tv shop wants $100. just to open the back. Any thoughts?

If you have replaced the fuse already then you know how to open the back of the set . The problem is more than likely one of the diodes in the rectifer circuit . They will be the four large black components The bad one will have to be desoldered and a new one soldered in its place . It will take a small amount of technicial ability but can be done easily at home.

I would definitely check your home wiring. An AC Electrical Wire Tester runs about $5.00. You just plug it in and three lights will light or not light depending on your wiring.

If a fuse should blow up, there should be a reason for it. If you replace the fuse without rectifying the problem and switch it ON, the newly replaced fuse too will blow up. Before replacing an other fuse, find out the reason and rectify it. There should be some shorted component/s at its main power supply board. Check and replace them. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It has schematic diagram of power supply section to many televisions. Pull up older posts by its left side bar. Problems to Sylvania too will be there.

Samsung fp-t5084 fuse fix is the replacement fuse slow burn or fast burn?

I'm certain it uses a T12amp slow blow type. I have the exact same model, you can replace the fuse. The TV will for a while, but that fuse will blow again. You will need to replace the power supply board for a more permanent fix.

I have a 32" CRT Sylvania Tv that won't turn

Hello
If the TV doesn't turn ON ata all, it is surely due to some fault with its power supply regulator section. You haven't given any otehr details of your tV, than it is only a 32 inch CRT Sylvanial Tv. No model number; so I only can provide you a solution in general.
Check the ON-OFF switch for its contact. Normally, TVs uses DPST type switches [Double Pole Single Throw]. If any one contact amoung them have any problem with its internal contacts, the set won't switch ON. If the switch is OK, come towards the power regulator section circuit board, and check whether the fuse has blown out or not. If it has blown out, replace it with same type and ampere rating. Never use higher ampere rating than specified. The ampere rating will be maiked either on the rims of the fuse, or at the printed circuit board, just under the fuse. After repalcing the fuse, switch ON the TV and see whether it works well or the replaced fuse blows up as soon as you switch ON the set. If the repalced switch burns out as soon as you switch ON the set, the power supply section has damaged [shorted components in it]; and should be replaced.
Normally for LCD TVs it will be good to replace the power supply as card basis. This power regulator card can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town, orby the authorised service center for Sylvania at your town. If you may have given its model number, I could send you the picture of the power card of your TV. OK.

Watching the TV and heard a "pop", it went dead. Opened up the back and found a blown 4A 125V fuse. Replaced fuse and plugged in TV. Fuse blew instantly when I plugged in the TV. Sylvania...

The power suply unit may be dead......if the fuse blows instantly it means that the main input is short.
possible parts damaged :the diodes from the mains, the power tranzistor and the ic from the primary part and other components around them.
First unplug the tv, unload the mains capacitor (using a light bulb) check all the diodes from the rectifing bridge, check for any shortened semiconductors or blow resistors.

BE VERRY CAREFUL !!! THERE IS A RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK ,IF U DON"T KONW ANY ELECTRONICS TAKE IT TO A SPECIALIST

Tv blowing fuses

More likely to be either shorted out bridge rectifier or MOSFET in the primary circuits of the power supply. You need to Ohm out those parts.

Sylvania lcd color tv

try a diffenrt outlet if it still bunrs of a different fuse! could be the fuse not big enough for the different appliance on the circuit !

i would suggest take it to a tech it could be a problem in the tv that could cost only a few $ to fix !!!!
against trying to much to plug it in and out you could burn transistors or other expensive part of the tv!
