Samsung HLM507W DLP TV

Hi Bobbyj,

Thanks very much for your advise on my power off/on issue. I had a feeling that it was either the lamp or the fan. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. Take care, Jeff

Look for Bad Capacitors on the Power supply board they will be vented on Top or Puffed up. Encompass Parts Distribution has Boards for this Set 1-800-638-3328
If Power supply board is OK then problem may go back to the Ballast Board ,It is what powers Lamp on.Look to make sure all fans are running and you do not have a defective Fan?

I HAVE A 50 HLM507W SAMSUNG TV WILL WORK FINE FOR 30 MIN THEN COLOR WILL GO GREEN AND BLUE AND STREEKS OF WHITE LIKE LIGHTING

When these colors show up if you can still see the on screen menus with no issues then more than not your digital board is bad. If they are not visible and are distorted as well then the DMD board is bad. Either way both are technician replacement items as the set requires alignment after either one is replaced.

Samsung HLP5063WXIXAC picture goes out randomly.

Hi,Does tv try to start and does it make a clicking sound? If it does it could be an issue with the ballast which is the board that powers the lamp.Check if fans are running ok, dust them out. Also reset lamp timer , here's how: http://www.fixyourdlp.com/2007/02/15/resetting-your-samsung-dlp-lamp-hour-meter-counter/ Here's the ballast you will need http://www.discount-merchant.com/We-provide-factory-original-parts-worldwide-p/1074215-n-fslash-a.htm Here's instructions to replace it: http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/samsung/bp47-00033a.php God bless you!

No picture and no sound

simply unplugging the TV and turning it back on if started to work.
if it doesn't then the Trying a new lamp first is reccommended.
After all, you will need another lamp eventually.
Samsung Parts

http://www.samsungparts.com/
model HLM507W as two different lamp replacement part. the LAMP for my TV was BP960224A. the replacement lamp listed on the Samsung site is BP960224C which was replaced by BP960224J. the difference according to my supplier is that A part has a brown power coupling and the J part has a black power coupling. hope this helps someone in the future. The couplings are different and a black LAMP coupling will not fit a brown TV coupling.

Replacement is simple, getting the right bulb is tougher. Make sure the TV is unplugged and the lamp has cooled. Looking at the TV from the back there is a lamp cover on the lower right. Remove the single screw, remove the door. There are two screws holding the lamp in, loosen these. Then flip the black plastic handle up at the bottom of the lamp assembly and pull the lamp assembly out.

Note the brand of the buld and the color of the connector (black or brown) and then call to order your parts from Samsung's parts reseller

With set off...mute + 1 + 8 + 2 + power.
Arrow down to "Options" push enter.
Lamp reset and lamp hours should be in there.
Power off 2 minutes or until fan kicks off to exit.
