Hi,
probably writing error.
Was it playing w/ Sync on the cam ?

If so, try different burning software like Nero.

I can not tranfer video files from JVC GR-DVX 400EG to pc.

If you have a DVD recorder/player with DV in put, you can buy a FireWire 4 pin male cable from a good audio/video shop which can connect to the DV socket on the camcorder. I got mine from Maplins only last week and at last I am saving the tapes to DVD.
Follow the DVD recorder booklet instructions and note every time you stop recording it will be saved as a separate file.

I AM UNABLE TO COPY VIDEOS FROM TAPE TO PC

Welcome to FixYa!

Copying from TAPE to PC requires 4 things. The video cam where the TAPE will be played, a FIREWIRE compatible cable, a FIREWIRE card installed on your computer and a SOFTWARE that supports a firewire device that would record the video.

Unlike Digital Videos that you can just copy and paste the video file from the video cam to the computer, the tape to pc transfer is more of recording the video in from the video cam by playing it in real time while the computer is recording it.

This is a sample of a FIREWIRE card that is installed inside a computer.
An external USB version of this is also available.

Windows MOVIE MAKER is an example of a software that can be used to record the videos. It supports FIREWIRE devices.

Here's a sample video.

Can I transfer my VHS tapes to DVD using my Aiptek A-HD+? I do not have a DVD burner, can I use an external one? I really have no clue where to begin and what problems I might run into. If this is even...

The Aiptek A-HD+ has an AV in mode that can record from sources like VHS,DVD,TV etc. Connect the output from the VHS player ( You will have to use a composite cable i.e RED,WHITE,Yellow cable) to the AV - in of the camcorder. Press play on the VHS and record on the cam. The recording will only be at 640x480 or VGA resolution. Once your video is recorded transfer the video to the PC as you regularly do by copying and pasting to your internal HDD. Use a software such as Nero Vision Express to convert your videos to DVD format and write a DVD. It will take come time as the video will have to be converted from the format the cam records in to MPEG-2 which is the standard compressor for DVD. You can use an external DVD writer , but the writing will only start after the files have been converted. You will need some converter for converting the videos to DVD standard or else it might not work on the DVD player's. There are many converters available online but Nero is easy and just one step, drag all videos and click write it will convert and write the DVD , easy.

Hope this Helps.

Cannot copy video from JVC GZ-HD6 camcorder to DVD Recorder

If you can play the vision on your tv via an av connection you should be able to record it onto the recorder. the recorder can record anything thats being played on the tv even if the other device is connected to the tv via another av connection. try this & see if it works.

How do I make a copy from a camcorder to a VCR ?

Connect audio and video outputs of the playing camcorder or the audio and video input of the recording VCR. Set the recording VCR to AUX or Line Input setting. On most JVC VCR’s we use channel 0 for AUX. (F1 or L1 will appear on the front panel). If you have another manufacturers VCR, please refer to that owners manual for the proper setting.
