Bought 2 Sharp LC20SH6U TV's 1 1/2 years ago. They are in guest rooms and have NO MORE than 20 hours on each. Now NEITHER remote works on either it's own TV or the other TV. Seems I've tried everything.
Put in NEW batteries. Adjusted contacts so they touch batteries.
Tried the suggestion of un-plugging TV for 1 minute...batteries out of Remote 30 seconds...Hold Power button on remote for 30 seconds...press buttons, etc, etc.
NOTHING WORKS...Any Suggestions?

I bought an 80" top of the line Sharp Aquos TV (MSRP $5959.00). ... I have the 20"Sharp flat panel TV with easel back stand. .... is to where you live, because in mystate (Louisiana), they're all at least a three hour drive away. ... Purchased a Sharp 70" model #LC70LE750U on 1/23/14 from Conn's and Saturday (11/28/15) ...
Lamps only last Between 5,000 hours some last 8,000 hours
So what that means For Every hour TV is Playing it is burning up hrs of lamp. These sets are not like projection that you can run day and night .
Most Lamps need replacing every 2 yrs Depending on how many hours you watch TV?
It could be that the Lamp you have is defective ,Mats has Lamps for $99.00 1-800-628-1118
Get New Lamp then see if that corrects the problem.
When I first bought my Sharp Aquos 42 inch TV...I started having sound problems...turned the volume way up to 60 maximum and could hardly hear it.
Then after the TV was on for 4 or 5 hours, there would be crackling chirping popping noise. It seems after the TV heats up for awhile...there is MAJOR sound problems.
So I was advised to buy a Sony surround system and connect it to my TV...deactivate the TV volume and use ONLY the surround sound. I did that...but the surround audio cables are connected to the back of the TV and I get the exact SAME problem with chirping and crackling sounds after the TV heats up.
SHARP IS NOT BEING HONEST WITH CUSTOMERS.
There should definitely be a RECALL on the sound board.
Replacing it does nothing....the overheating of the TV just damages the new sound board and the TV has to be repaired again and again.
My 47" Vizio wouldnt turn on this morning.....had a similair problem 3 yrs ago.....this is what i did and fixed the problem myself.....apparently you have to reset TV. Here is what has worked for me. So unplug tv power cord from the tv. Hold the power button and imput button together ( located on side panel ) for approx 45 sec......plug cord back into tv. Press power button on tv and voila !!!!! Tv came back on!!! I have had my Vizio almost 5 yrs. But have to call the unhelpful customer service atleast once a year.... I hope this works for you :)
