Cordless phone set problem

We unplugged one of our two phones and plugged it in again and now both phones have a high pitched tone. The battery shows all bars are good. What else can we check?

Hi,

Do you have DSL in the home? or Anywhere in the house?
If yes then please unplug the modem for 10 min and then plug it in back if you have connected the cordless phone with the wireless feature.

Is the base set with a/c plug and phone cord?
If yes then please unplug it and then plug it back after 10min.

Can you plug another land phone, common set into the same jack and get this high pitch?
If you here then the problem is with the line not with your cordless phone.Call the line man and get it fixed.

Also please make sure your batteries are new as this is important in wireless sets communicating with a high frequency base set.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

Look below or on the side perimeter of the phone there is switch marked Hi and Low, select the low option and you will have a lower tone on your phones.

Hi I have a Cordless Uniden Dect 6.0 and also another one that sitts on a bitter base. My problem is this: the cordless with the smaller base shows the message 'Searching' and wont do anything,...

Welcome to FixYa.

Reset the units/set up by doing the following:
  • Turn OFF all the HANDSETS.
  • Remove the batteries of the HANDSETS.
  • Unplug the power source of the BASE.
  • Unplug the phone line of the BASE.
  • Let it stay that way for 30 mins.
  • Insert the battery again of the HANDSETS, make sure it is charged properly.
  • Plug back the power source of the BASE.
  • Plug back the phone line to the BASE.
  • Register any handset that is unregistered (refer to manual).

Keep me posted.

No connectivity cordless phone

Sorry you are having trouble.
Try this: Remove batteries from phones and re-insert.
Unplug base unit
Leave unplugged for about one minute.
Plug in base unit
Check for dial tone
If this does not work then get a non wireless phone and verify that you have a dial tone.

Panasonic phones say "line in use", have unplugged batteries in all phones and have unplugged and plugged in again all phones. Any suggestions?

The base station may have gotten 'zapped' by a high voltage transient, they are not very well protected against transients arriving via the telephone line. Try removing the line from the base station to see if the display no longer gives you that 'line in use' message. If it does, the base station is toast. If it doesn't, dig around and find an non-electronic phone to plug into your phone jack to see if you have a dial tone. We keep at least one of the old style phones to use during power outages since cell phones are useless in our area.

I have charged for abt 20 hrs for set up. all I get is "Searching" Help me to move foreward.Sue DECT1560 This is a new phone I am trying to get it in service. I have no dial tone ,message "searching"...

First make sure the phone jack is working by plugging a working phone into it.

if it is working, use the same phone cable to plug into the base of your new unit.

if you do not get dail tone, place the handset into the main charging base. this should sync the phone up to the base. lift it out and try again.

if you still do not get dail tone or see searching, open the phone and remove the battery. wait 30s or so, plug the battery back in and set the phone in the main charger again. wait 10second and try the phone again.

Uniden cordless phone. No dial tone.

Hi peddler65, did you plug your phone into another area to see if there is a dial tone. Then if not call the phone company or find the D-mark (where your dial tone ) comes into your home and put a jack on that and plug a phone in with all phones in the house unplugged.

Thanks.

GE 5.8 ghz cordless phone

Get another telephone and connect the telephone cord from your cordless phone to it. If it works, then you know the problem is with your GE cordless phone. If it doesn't, try replacing the telephone cord. If still no good, call your telephone company.
