Which end of the connector are you referring to? You can connect the Sansa using its own cord to any powered USB slot, whether a computer, wall outlet adapter, cigarette lighter adapter, etc; a USB source is a USB source. Do not plug an iPod cord into the Sansa; the two are totally electrically incompatible.

You can try and reset your sansa and see if this fixes the issue.

Connect the proper USB cable to yoru Sansa the Press and hold the Power On button and the Play button (>||) for 20 seconds

How Do I Fix My Sansa E250 I charged It One Day On MY Ipod Wall Charger And It Started Smoking Now It Work Wont Work And I Need A New Sansa Charger

you probably fried the entire thing. Using the wrong power cord is a big no no as the voltage and amplitude must match or you could easily overload or slug down the product. Sorry but the best advice is learn from the mistake and use the thing for parts as that would void manufacturers warranty.

Kinda the same thing happened to me. I tried to plug my sansa into my friends iHome and it blew out one of his speakers and screwed up my sansa, which was an e270.

CHARGERS FOR MP3S AND iPODS

Hi Bluben,

For both the iPod and the Fuze you charge the MP3 player by connecting it to your computer's USB port. There are also optional chargers available that you can connect to your car's cigarette lighter or to an AC wall outlet if you want to charge the player and don't have a computer available.

Prombles Recharging Battery

Try upgrading the firmware of the player. If it still discharges quickly it may be the battery contact POP and have the battery replaced.

Ipod charger

1 question: how did you do that? i thought the Ipod and the sansa have different adapter types? anyway, i'd suggest getting a new battery. and it's probably because the sansa and ipod use don't use the same amount of energy (volts, etc.) that this happened.
