Thanks for the comment. I cleaned both cartridges and turned the machine off and on again. I'm still getting the same error message. I'll get a new cartridge and see if that fixes the problem

Turn the printer on.then remove both the cartridges out.on the cartridges you will see the brown color dotted circuit.clean that circuit with a dry tissue paper.on the lower base of the cartridge you will see the nozzle of the cartridge from where the ink comes out from the cartridge from printing.clean that area also with tissue paper.dont apply too much force on the circuit , the circuit of the cartridge is very delicate so take take care you don't make rashes on the cartridge or nozzle while cleaning the cartridges.clean the circuit of both the cartridges one-by-one. then in the printer where you insert the cartridges, there also you will see the same brown color dotted circuit .clean that circuit also with the dry tissue.take care you don't damage the printer circuit.then after the cleaning is finished, properly insert the cartridges in the printer to their respective positions.then check out the printer display.is it showing the same message or the message is gone.if its showing the same message ,then turn the printer off then ON then check out again if its still the same problem message on display then its confirmed that the right side cartridge in the printer is got faulty.the brown dotted circuit is getting short in the cartridge so the printer is not detecting the cartridge and this error comes on.in this case the cartridge needs to be replaced.this is very common problem and occurs many a times.replacing the cartridge solves the problem if cleaning the circuit does not helps. this will help.please do rate the solution.keep updated for any further assistance if more help required.,thanks.

Hi, I have a Lexmark X7170 Multi-function printer/copier/scanner and it is showing an error message "left cartridge incorrect". I have not charged the cartridges and I have tried to re-align it. Any ideas?

it means your left cartiridge got some problem, might be it got short and you have to replace that.

try this remove your left cartiridge and then try to print if it work then its clear that your aother cartiridge is gone and you need to change it.

Get an error message that says "Cartridge Error."

It could be an indication that it's reading the cartridge incorrectly or the cartridge isn't properly seated. Try re-inserting the old cartridge or a new one to correct your problem.

Cartridge errors..cartridge incorrect

sounds like they're the type of cartridges that cannot be refilled, due to the computer chip on them.

HP PSC 750xi - Incorrect color printer cartridge installed error

I had this same problem and by a luck I fixed it. Not sure if the method to the madness had anything to do with it, but I'll put it down in the order that I did everything. 1. reset to factory defaults 2. pulled all cartridges out. it prompted me to put color in first, then black. message was still blinking so i took out color and put it back in again. 3. i did the partial reset by holding down cancel and left arrow while i unplugged/replugged the printer. 4. no the printer started displaying "remove and check color cartridge" (or something to that degree) 5. i took out color cartridge, cleaned the contacts with water on towel, and replaced cartridge. 6. same message still being displayed, but it allowed me to print a maintenance report. so i then cleaned cartridges and aligned cartridges through standard menu. 7. msg still being displayed, so i turned off/on printer again. this time it came back up with no message at all. 8. printer now works
hope this helps and works for ya'll too!

Dell All-in-one 924 error: "right cartridge is incorrect"

Hi ,
if you are getting the error msg 12203 , pperform the following steps,
remove both the cartridges from the printer and unplug the power adapter ( black box) from the back panel of the printer, clean the cartridges using a damp cloth .

initially put only the black cartridge and then turn on the system , it will give you the error msg right cartridge missing, you can ignore it and try copying a document .

remove the black cartridge and put the color one in, and then try printing.

during the printing with any of the cartridge inside the printer if it gives out the error msg 1203 then that cartridge has to be replaced...
