No, it's not true. The OS has nothing to do with the temperature. What you can do is buy a cooling pad. Also put the laptop at an angle so the fan underneath can breathe. Download a software called HWM Blackbox to check the CPU temp. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate and provide positive feedback for our fast-free response today. Thank you :D

Thank you the3kemps for your testimonial... it should be around 50-60 C. Depending on the model maybe a little bit higher but not more than 80. That should be at full capacity, meaning several windows open, or using Photoshop or something like that.

Acer 5535 freezing

If your computer freezes, then the problem is related to the registry. When the Windows registry is filled with errors it can't stop your system from properly communicating information.

The only solution for freezing is to clean the registry of corrupt files and various errors. Not only will this prevent computer crashing, it will also speed up your system considerably.

Hello I have an acer aspire 5535 and it keeps

The complete solution to this fault (Acer 5535 keeps crashing under vista) is to use Windows XP instead of Vista. Set up a Dual Boot so you can CHOOSE to load XP or Vista each time you turn on the laptop. I've put XP on my 5535 and it's SO much faster and seems perfectly stable now - no crashing at all.

A full video showing how to do this is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdfU9TXIAd4

Once you've done this you won't have any problems with the laptop anymore.
This is a perfect solution to the crashing problem!
