Do you mean restored? If you have restored back to factory, maybe you need to load the drivers for it. If in windows xp, right click on the "My Computer" icon, left click on properties in the menu that pops up. Now in the window that opens, click on the hardware tab, then click device manager. look for your sound card under sound. If you see exclamation point or unknown devices, that may be it.

You need to check and/or install the sound card driver.
www.drivermax.com is the best site to download a driver management program, free.

Try to disconnect the input connector of your speaker and touch the input jack of the unit if you hear a hazing sound it means your speakers are working properly but if you don't hear any sound your speakers are bad. Open the speaker unit and check the amplifier section of your unit. If you don't see any burned electronic component inside. Check the wiring of your unit.
To check if the audio of your computer is working. Plug in the input a headset if you hear a sound while you playing a music in your computer it means the audio of your computer is working good.

What do you mean went back to factory settings? Are you referring to the bios settings? Or other else? If you are referring to the bios settings, and everytime you change the bios and rebooted, then back to factory settings then your problem maybe the cmos battery. You can change it and try if everything works fine. And maybe you can't connect using wifi because it is disabled in the bios settings or if not you got a defective wireless module. Hope this will help pal. Maybe you should elaborate your situation more detailed as what is really happening to your laptop,

Problem using Audio 3 sound inputs for HDMI video

Normally this problem is simply a matter of selecting the correct default audio playback device in the Windows control panel (sound option).
Check the Playback tab and set the default device to either DVI or HDMI.

Speakers should be plugged into the GREEN jack on the back of the computer. Also, RIGHT click on the speaker icon in the lower right and Open Volume Controls. Make sure that all slide controls are at least midway.

Computer won't read audio unit.

Still there is no problem to your speakers... it's the Sound Driver is missing for Windows to activate the audio part of the motherboard... If you have the motherboard CD.... System properties and install the driver in order to restore that missing file...

Good luck.. Hoping this Fixya the problem... post me back if you have other inquiry... Just don't forget to rate us...
